Katrdeshr, hmm. Nancy described Katrdeshtr's Redemption: "I love vampires and their multi-faceted, powerful, seductive, immortal, and mysterious natures...." and Katrdeshtr specifically as, "moody, bored, and restless," all very true.

He's Russian (more or less), a mischief maker, petty, profound and impetuous, and he's mine :-) I enjoy writing about Katrdeshtr as he is a distinct facet of my personality as well. A thing a lot of people don't know. When I feel to be so, I love being irreverent, and there are times when I am always smiling because I feel like the little boy who likes to "streak" for the thrill of it, just to make his mother shriek.

I've created a "Fictional Character" page for Katrdeshtr on Facebook. It's an interface more real-time where you can interact with Kat, or read more about his thoughts, quirky, sensual or darkly hungry. I really enjoy being "in character" as my equally red-haired alter ego.

So come on over and check him out. He's pert and direct, but I think you'll like him if you give him the chance.

There are a few out there, but the latest review I've found online is from BITTEN BY BOOKS, a vampire specialty site...so I was especially pleased with their comments!

"The author really gives readers a sense of who his characters are, including their backstories, which is no small feat considering the story is just over twenty pages.

The writing is striking in its beauty, and I was hooked by the very first paragraph: “The air of the late summer night was close and humid, warm as the breath of a living thing, alive with nocturnal denizens both creeping and flying. Stretched out on an ancient rock emanating a chill from deep within its heart, Katrdeshtr the Night Cat leisurely watched a young man swimming in a dark pool below.” The words bring to life Kat’s world and create a scene with an undercurrent of dangerous things to come as Kat stalks his prey.

Katrdeshtr’s Redemption is a fierce story of love, jealousy and awakening and is only the first entry in The Night Cat series by Red Haircrow."

Chapter 1 excerpt from "Beauty Brutalé", The Night Cat, Book2, can be found on Kat's fanpage on Facebook.

"Perfectly composed, long dark blue eyes as brilliant as sapphires in the pale Asian cast of his face, black waving hair a crisp cap swirled across his brow, Tal Trieska stood in middle of the flagged hall watching Katrdeshtr’s approach. A newly waning moon provided a light and clarity to the scene, yet made the shadows even more sinister..."
