Um... well I like Harry Potter
but i don't like 'The Boy in the Stripe Pyjama's'
I read that and it was the worst book I ever read

Currently my favorites are:

The Secret Series by Pseudonymous Bosch, anything written by Neil Gaiman, A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, and The Word Gang, by Mark McKenna

I just finished Mockingbird, which was beautiful, and I've moved on to the fourth Kingdom Keepers book (Power Play). Power Play is good, although it is a little cliched, far-fetched, and at points the characters are just unrealistic. However, I'm enjoying it.

Books I disliked include the Charlie Bone series, Tunnels, and (regrettably!) the last few Wrinkle in Time books. Charlie Bone and Tunnels just weren't enganging enough for me, with dull characters and undescriptive writing... Like with one books you know how you feel like you're there? I wasn't getting that feeling wih either of those books. As for A Wrinkle in Time, I was shocked to not have loved the second and third as much as the first... So sad! The fist was engaging, brilliantly written, amazing plot... And while the plot was interesting enough on the others, it just wasn't engaging enough.

Why didn't you like The Boy in the Striped Pajamas? Just curious, I've heard some good things about it...

Books that I really enjoyed were the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling, BFG by Roald Dahl, Dragonfly Pool by , Teen Power Inc Series by Emily Rodda and Key to Ronda Series by Emily Rodda.

Some of the books that I have read recently that I enjoyed were Private #1, #2 and #3 by Kate Brian, Tomorrow When The War Began 1#, 2#, 3# and 4# by John Marsden, So Much To Tell You by John Marsden and Hunger Games #1

Books that I didn't enjoy recently were Pink, The Guy Next Door and The Twig Triology.
I didn't enjoy The Guy next door because
1. It didn't make any sense
2. It was so boring

I didn't enjoy The Twig Triology because it was gross and everytime I read it I actually had to skip parts because they were so gross... i mean like tearing animals apart gross!!! It was so weird as well. The authour just didn't explain any of the characters well and she would start talking about them and nobody would know what was going on. I gave up reading them after the first book!!!

Somebody I know has read 'A Wrinkle in Time'
She said that is wasn't a very good book!

It was just so sad and... i just didn't like it!
Wow... that was a lot of rambling

Gabby (Gabby123) | 853 comments I have recently read and enjoyed The Gone triliogy (Gone,Hunger,Lies,Plague), The Hunger Games Series (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay), The Warriors Series (Into the Wild, Fire and Ice, Forest of Secrets, Rising Storm, A Dangerous Path, The Darkest Hour, etc)

I am really loving the Gone Series because I find books about children in a world without adults really interesting, which is why I also liked the hunger games. This series also incorporates an element of sci-fi when some kids start developing powers, which makes it even more intriguing.

I really like the Warriors series because it surprised me how good they were. It sounds a bit stupid at first, being about "clans" of "warrior cats", but I actually found it really good!

I started reading a book called "Heck" which I REALLY didn't like. I hated the writing style, and I only read about four pages before I just got bored. It was just...I don't know, but I just really hated it!!!

Ahhh...I just love rambling...

"Heck" looks really bizarre... :-/

The first Wrinkle in Time was AWESOME!!!! Highly recommended, but I'd just stick to the first one if I were you...

Yeah... one of the girls in Grade 7 last year read it and said it was really bad but the teacher read it and really enjoyed it and recommended it to all of us

Sarah (agentsd) | 11810 comments Mod
Hmmm, well it has to do with time travel, so it's very sic-fi, but it's sic-fi in a very fantasy way, if that makes sense. ;) I think you'd like it though, considering you like the HP books.

Sarah (agentsd) | 11810 comments Mod
Perhaps, it's OK, but it's not what I was expecting... With all the hype on how great it is I'm kind of disappointed.

Becky (MissFooFoo) | 4249 comments Mod
How far are you?

message 44: by Sarah, The Random Nerd (new)

Sarah (agentsd) | 11810 comments Mod
Beginning Chapter 3 right now. It's not so bad... It lies somewhere between how great I thought it would be and the utter rubbish my cousin thought it would be. ;) Closer to my expectations, thankfully.
