Lisa M | 311 comments The biggest free eBook site I know of is NetGalley (that's not classics and the like). They have Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) of several soon to be published books in all kinds of genres. All they ask is that you post a review for the books that you're approved to read. You are more likely to get approved if you have a book blog, but Goodreads reviews can be enough for some publishers. Some will instantly approve booksellers and librarians. Occasionally, they will have "Read Now" books where you can get the book instantly. Otherwise, you click a "Request" button then wait for the publisher to approve or decline your request. I've only been declined once.

Currently I'm reading Feast Harvest of Dreams by Merrie Destefano , the new one by Merrie Destefano coming out in June. It's still available to request.

Yodamom Free Steampunk book for Kindle

The Strange Case of Finley Jayne [Kindle Edition]
Kady Cross
Finley Jayne knows she's not 'normal'. Normal girls don't lose time, or have something inside them that makes them capable of remarkably violent things. Her behavior has already cost her one job, so when she's offered the lofty position of companion to Phoebe, a debutante recently engaged to Lord Vincent, she accepts, despite having no experience. Lord Vincent is a man of science with his automatons and inventions, but Finley is suspicious of his motives where Phoebe is concerned. She will do anything to protect her new friend, but what she discovers is even more monstrous than anything she could have imagined…

An ebook exclusive prequel to The Steampunk Chronicles.

Yodamom In honor of St. Patrick’s Day – no, not green beer – a group of authors has banded together to offer 40 free books in the Kindle format for free March 14th – 18th (today through Sunday). It looks like they have a variety of genres available – romance, paranormal, mystery/thriller, children, science fiction, fantasy, and more.

Even better, you won’t download them from an external site but from the Amazon site – you just need to go to their special website to read about the book, then click on the book’s cover to be taken to the Amazon site where you can download away.

I’d be willing to bet you’ll find at least one book you might like! To check out these offers, you can click here -

Book Description
Publication Date: January 7, 2012
For the past five months Essallie Hanley has been trying to forget about the frightening murder of her boyfriend. Haunted by vivid nightmares and hallucinations of the event she does anything she can to pretend she's like every other normal girl in High School.

Only Essallie is far from normal. Able to conjure blue fire and a shimmering silhouette of wings from her body, she seeks the only known solace left to her name; her first home in Belfast, Maine.

But she soon realizes that her return home is only the beginning of a long and twisted road taking her as far from her humanity as possible, with Kayden, the demon originally summoned to slaughter her, leading the way. Unable to touch her but oddly curious, he joins Essallie in her search to find out just what she is. But neither of them were prepared for the secrets they've begun to unravel, secrets that will change Essallie and everyone around her forever.

Kristen (kristen8) | 46 comments There is a site that I use, www.ereaderiq.com and you can import your wish list from amazon and receive emails when there are price drops from books on your list. (Click on the Kindle Price Drop tab)

It's legal, easy to use and free and they also list daily free books. (They filter out all of the erotica so you don't have to.)

Also if you like Soulless but haven't purchased it yet, there is a bundle including the first three books. Not free, but I picked it up when it was featured as a daily deal for 9.99. So it could happen again? Great 5 books series.

Marshall Chamberlain COMPLIMENTARY E-BOOK THRILLER BY 5-STAR AUTHOR, MARSHALL CHAMBERLAIN.

Hello to the group. I'm a Goodreads author, introducing my “raging-river,” writing style by setting up a PDF download of "The Mountain Place of Knowledge", the first book in the Ancestor Series of adventure-thrillers.

The story is about: A scepter instrument that heals and destroys. A place of knowledge inside a mountain in Belize. A race to preserve ancient technology for the benefit of the human race. Two U.N. scientists are dispatched to Belize to determine how to access the mysterious mountain. What lies inside is scientifically unfathomable and brings immediate covert actions by nations bent on acquiring control.

Becca (goblinfan) | 215 comments This is the only general topic thread that has anything to do with ereaders and ebooks, so I figure this is the best place for my question.
Which ereader is better, Kindle or Nook? Or is there another one that beats those two? I have a Kindle and I love it, but my dad wants one but not the same type that I have. However, he was checking out a Nook that someone had he met while waiting at the doctor's office. So are they all pretty much the same?
