Ok,I have math homework due on Mon. and I'm stuck on this question: The value of a stock went down $3 each week for a period of seven weeks. Describe the change in the value of the stock at the end of the seventh week period. (If this is easy for, I'm sorry, but I'm stupid in math. :()

This is the thing about Math...some questions seem straight-forward (I know this question is)...but you can't put your finger on it.
I can't get the answer...my best guess is a 'negative $21'?

Yeah it's -21. Take away the words and just use the numbers.

Hi guys..i'm stupid. :/ Here's a question:


Paint comes in 2 sizes. One can can hold 16 oz of paint and costs $3.44. The other can holdes 24 oz of paint and costs $5.10. Which can of paint would be a better deal?

Jessica: Ok so for this you want to see how much would paint A be if it was 24 oz.(You could also find the least common multiple of 16 and 24 but that would require more work) So set up a balanced equation like 16/3.44 = 24/x Then cross multiply so it becomes 16x = (3.44)(24) multiply then divide and you would get 5.16 so the second one is a better deal.

A simpler way could be to divide 24/16 to find the quotient. You would get 1.5 Then multiply by 3.44 and you would still get 5.16 :D This way is obviously shorter but the first way shows you how it actually works. Hope this helps!
