I like flawed characters and the non-traditional. For me this was an original storyline, and different than any other series that I have read so far.

Review: I really like this book, anxious to see how the rest of the series goes. To me her style is kind of a blend of Patricia Briggs Mercy series and Eileen Wilks Lupi series. Good plot, capable butt kicking heroine, alpha hunks, and a good mix of romance that fits the storyline. I will definitely continue on with this series.

Review: Really liked this book. The first half was the best, a strong 5+. Had all the elements I like, dark troubled characters, emotional lows and a few highs with challenges to overcome. I liked the world building and character development. I couldn't put it down. I struggled with and the last couple of chapters felt rushed and crammed with action. Overall it was still a good read and I will continue with the series. It reminded me of a mature adult version of the Chicagoland vampire series which sometimes feel YA to me with the twenty something characters.

Review: Suprisingly, I really liked this book and plan to continue with this series, they've been on my TBR shelf for over a year. Had strong characters and a good plot. She has a different twist on those poor hunky demons without mates. Not usually a fan of romance or Demon books, but this had a good mix of a little darker PNR (with bloody battles) and interesting storyline that managed to keep my attention.

Review: 3 1/2 stars... Enjoyed this book and the "steampunk" world this story was set. Started a little slow for me with the world building, but the storyline was unique enough and kept my attention. I found the main characters attraction and communication with each other a little awkward at times, but still a good read. Looking forward to the next book, met the characters that will be in the spotlight and they should be pretty entertaining.

Review: What a great surprise this book was! It was such an odd premise and the author made it work in combination with an interesting storyline. Taking completely flawed characters with major psych issues and using that mental illness as a weapon to use for a "good" cause. Then the added twists and turns in the end really set up the next book in the series nicely. I like how Justine's character developed and Packard's crew rallied to support her too. Favorite lines of the book- Now and then I lurk in the lobbies across from his office building, hoping to catch a glimpse of him...I suppose you could qualify it as stalking."

Review: This was soooo good and a great start to the new series by one of my fav authors. This gives us a flash forward 25 yrs from where the Riley Jensen series left off and Risa is a young successful woman with her own adventures. She co-owns a restraunt with her roommates Tao, nephew of Riley's ex Kellan, and Ilana a horse shifter witch with pre-cog skills. The book is full of Aedh, Reapers, and ghosts. This is not for anyone looking for a HEA PNR ending, this ends with heck of a cliff hanger. DO NOT spoil this book by reading the cover off the next issue, DARKNESS RISING.

To Be Continued? Uncertain, probably since I have already some of the books but moving lower in the TBR pile.

Review: This was like Buffy meets the Victorian age. Victoria assuming the family legacy of vampire hunter and balancing coming out in society was just ok for me. There is a little romance threaded thru the storyline, but didn't leave ya with that warm & fuzzy feeling. The first half was slow and somewhat cheesy, then the action in the second half bumped it up a star, but this was almost a DNF for me.

Review: Great read! After a bio attack took out plants, trees, livestock, power, etc. we get to experience the "Aftertime". The author does a great job placing you in that damaged world with those struggling to survive. This book has "beaters" which are zombies that plague the cities during the day looking for flesh. The main character is flawed and struggles against her past ghosts while trying to trust others she encounters in her mission to find her young daughter. This was a page turner that I read completely in the same day.

Review: I enjoyed this new author and world. The Fae war is on and McKenzie is in the middle, she is a rare human that has the sight to see fae and also track them as they flash out to the fae realm. The court Fae have used her for years to track rebels but when the rebels kidnap her, she must decide if she is working on the right side. As her world of right and wrong is blurred, so is her love for the Fae swordsman thats been her protector and a love triangle is formed. As fae battles fae, McKenzie battles feelings and tries to determine who's lying to her, who's deceiving her and who truly loves her. Pretty bloody fights and a lot of bodily damage, thank goodness those fae can heal. I will definitely continue with this series.

Review: This was just an OK 1st book to start a series. Poor Allegra "Allie" starts off by tripping in her new shoes and falling in front of a bus and is technically killed. Raziel a fallen angel is sent to deliver her to her final destination, but when he discovers he is delivering her to the gates of hell he pulls her back at the last minute endangering his life by taking on the fire. She then saves him from the Nephilim who are like flesh eating zombies and he accidently bonds with her by sharing breath. I think my struggle within book is that the chemistry is pretty non-existent between the two and most of the book is them fighting what is pulling them together until it's almost too late when the real battle for Sheol and their existence is threatened by a traitor and a new destiny is created. A little disappointed after such a hawt little cover and my weekly pondering, not sure if I'll jump to continue this series.

Review: Interesting world building. Nurse by day slips into an alternate Steampunk reality by an enchanted locket spelled by a carnival magician seeking his true love. Crimeny is a bludman, vampire like class of blood drinking humans that are long lived and racially mistreated by the Coppers that keep the peace between the blud and pinkies. Even the cute bunnies are blud bunnies and attack pinkies when they smell a meal. Latisha is fascinated with the Sang world, but misses her gran in her America and tries to live in both. Quite a unique world and with twists and glances at the future, it's a fun little ride. When I read about the magical Crimeny, all I can think is he has to be played by Johnny Depp...
