Ok.... you right there!
Um.... what do you mean writing? Like a poem or a short story?

Sarah (agentsd) | 11810 comments Mod
Yeah, sure, writing is writing. XD

I have mixed emotions, because I LOVE writing my own stuff, and even some assignments when I have loads of freedom, but I loathe writing stuff for schoolwork. Research papers suck. :,(

message 9: by Jackeline (new)

Jackeline (jackelineblue) | 141 comments I wrote poetry in my early middle school years I still have the booklet but I'm unsure of my grammar as well as my writing style. I sort of want someone's opinion, sincer opinion, but I also want to publish my writing. However I want to do it under a pen name in case I write something big that isn't poetry. And I don't know if I could that if someones already read my work. That's kind of how I plan to pay for college and to make a living out of it for the majority of the rest of my life. I'll still have some kind of job, not sure what it will be though.

I'm a huge grammar nerd, in fact I had a dream a few nights ago where everyone was using improper grammar and I was shouting, "NO!!!!!!! THAT'S AN OBJECT PRONOUN!!!!!!!! USE THE SUBJECT PRONOUN!!!!!!!!" xD I'd be happy to read your poems, if you are looking for an extra opinion.

I doubt I can make writing a job, but I have a feeling I'll write a few books when I'm older... I recently started a writing project, but sadly I have finals and I can't resume my writing until the summer. I do plan on self-publishing it, and I'm going to use a pen name because pen names *cue the Doctor Who voice* are cool.

Gabby wrote: "I like writing poems because it is easier than writing stories. But i do like writing stories too. I just suck at making up ideas :P"

I'm the same way... What's annoying is when I have a really epic beginning and then I cant think of the rest of the story. :( I think I'm destined to be a co-author...

message 13: by Jackeline (new)

Jackeline (jackelineblue) | 141 comments To be perfectly honest I don't remember the rules of grammar and when people start to say the names of the word (noun, pronoun) I try not to listen because otherwise I get confuse in grammar.

As for your offer Sarah, I'll think about it. I just don't want my writing to be read before it's published. But thank you. :)

message 29: by Gabby (new)

Gabby (Gabby123) | 853 comments It's like how you do italics in GoodReads. (I will put a full stop in between each symbol so it doesn't turn it into italics)Here is how you do italics:
<.i.> Hello Becky :) <./.i.>
And it automatically puts it in italics;
Hello Becky! :)

message 30: by Jackeline (new)

Jackeline (jackelineblue) | 141 comments Is that what you do when you paste/rewrite what someone else wrote or are the italics automatic?

message 31: by Sarah, The Random Nerd (new)

Sarah (agentsd) | 11810 comments Mod
Jackeline wrote: "Is that what you do when you paste/rewrite what someone else wrote or are the italics automatic?"

If I click reply, it automatically re-writes what you said and puts it in italics. The italic tags show up when I'm writing my comment...

I can also type my own italic tags to put any writing in italics!
