Happy May Day. I just picked up my copy of Wizard's Bane from Amazon but haven't done more than add it to it's collections ...

ummm ... note to all ... this book is in the Baen Free Library here: http://www.webscription.net/p-724-wiz....

there is a Wizard's Bane (The Sojourner Chronicles) at Amazon, but that's not the right one. I just had it refunded. :)

Good thing you were able to get a refund. :-) I have my copy from Baen ready to go.

Carey Bostwick (carebear11) | 40 comments The story was great. I think that my husband who is a computer programmer would especially like it since there are many programming references.

I'm almost finished now ... and I wasn't sure where the book was going for the longest time. It was just so much walking through the forest, arguing and chopping wood.

Then at about 60% I was suddenly sucked in ...

Donna (donnahr) I finished it last night. I agree with Geoffrey, I thought it took a long time to get going. Once the real action started, it was much better. I really liked the throwing of spells as computer commands even though it never actually made sense to me. It was a quick, fun read though it didn't have a lot of substance to it. The next book is only $4.00 at Baen.com so I will probably get it--I like to have some easy reads in the TBR pile.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. I have a transatlantic flight on Monday do I need brain candy to occupy me.

Tuttle (tuttleturtle) | 9 comments I've enjoyed the entire series as easy reads plus amusement from computer puns. The later books take less time to get going, but continue just being quick, fun reads.

Charles (nogdog) Haven't decided if I'm going to pick this up again. I started it a few months ago, and stopped after awhile when I got perturbed with the characters and the whole doing spells when he said he wouldn't thing. Did this irk anyone else, or is it just me?

Charlotte (charlotte-) | 12 comments Thanks for the Baen book tip Geoffrey! I have downloaded it and will check it out soon

Charlotte (charlotte-) | 12 comments Got to 26% and not sure I will carry on. Just too light and vapid for me. First Contact, that some of you could not bring yourself to finish, did a lot more for me! (see my longer comment on that discussion.)
