Tarra (bookishbookjunkie) Hi,
Im posting this on a few groups im a member of in hopes of getting a response somewhere. My mother has recently started herself a book collection, she has not been a reader since i was a baby so she is kinda out of the loop as to who is good as far as authors and i cant really help her because like 2 different types of books. My mother likes horror/scary books like, i know she is a big fan of Stephen King and John Saul. Those are the only authors she knows of now LOL Can anyone tell me some good authors that write books similar to those 2 authors i named that i can tell her about because she has been hounding me about it? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Sharon | 10 comments Have her try Dean Koontz (I especially like his Odd Thomas series), Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake series), Chelsea Quinn Yarbro (Count St. Germaine series. I'll post again if I think of any others. :-) P.S. All three are fairly prolific which should keep her reading for a while.

Carlyn Jane I agree, the Odd Thomas series is great!! The Anita Blake series start off good, but towards the middle I got bored. I think maybe because I needed to take a break and read something a little different. Jack Ketchum is another horror author I've heard a lot of good things about. And Stephen King's son, Joe Hill is writing horror books now too.
I'm reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward now, pretty good, a lot of steamy stuff. :)

Give Clive Barker a try.

Sam (ecowitch) | 42 comments Graham Masterton is pretty good too and has written plenty to keep her busy reading!
