I love that you can 'name' your Kindle.

I personally have decided to name mine after my favourite character in the book I am currently reading.

At the moment, it is Bobo. Based on the chimpanzee in Water for Elephants.

I never thought of naming mine!

I can't say I have thought about naming mine either, but I have to say, I like your idea, Lauren.

I didn't know you could name it. Where is this option?

Mine is named Medeous after one of the characters in a favorite book of mine, Tam Lin.

Digna, I think it's if you go to "Settings"--you can change it from "Digna's Kindle" or whatever it is. I think you can also rename it from the Manage My Kindle webpage.

I named my Kindle "Kakuru." The devices on our home network have dinosaur names (we're all geeks here). The "dinosaur" Kakuru is based on the evidence of one leg bone, so it's a bit of a stretch, but that one leg bone was fossilized as an opal (I have a white Kindle), and the name for it came from the Rainbow Serpent in Australian Aboriginal mythology.

Oh Kate that is lovely. Now I'm going to have to get deep and meaningful in my kindle's name. Will get to it when I finish doing SATs with my class.

My First Generation Kindle is "Bartleby."

My Kindle DX-Graphite is "Mr. Atoz."

My Third Generation Kindle is "Alexander."

I named mine Rover. It's like my little pet that goes and fetches me books to read. "Good boy, Rover.", he just loves to get his belly scratched...

Jejeje I had been naming my computers and some people had laought of me. But is something normal if a computer is a server to receive a name.

but I never thought in give a name for my kindle.

After a little thinking I think I will give him the name of Panfleto.

I named mine Sharon's Diva (K1). When I got my K3, I kept the name but just put * in front of it so it would be my default for one-click, after discovering my books were all going to the K1.

Mine is so aptly named Traci's Kindle. Just like my laptop is called Traci's Laptop, haha.

Mine is just called "My Book". My husband knows what I mean when I say, "Have you seen My Book?"

Well, reading through past and future which means its partially a time machine.

My last name is Best, so I named mine "The Best Book." And it really is the best book around :)

I like that, mine is still Helen's kindle but I'm going to change it.

Yeah totally. It says your account name but also your kindle's name. Nothing else changes.

Brilliant, toying with it being 'The Library' but thinking of waiting for my new skin to arrive and being more creative based on that.

I named mine Diva ~ I guess because I thought she was really something!

As it turns out, my electronic devices are all themed... my laptop is named Shiny, my iPod Touch is named Serenity, and my Kindle is (appropriately enough) named Firefly. :)

I loved the film Serenity and bought the box set Firefly as a result, Shiny doesn;t mean anything to me. Am I 'theming' them differently to you?

No, you're correct! "Shiny" is Firefly/Serenity slang for good, great, etc. Next time you watch the series you'll probably notice the characters using the word now!

Dawn, I will have to rewatch at some point soon and see! Loved them.

I named mine Heinz Beanz, we just moved to Germany and I wanted a German-English name. I always refer to him as a he, not sure why as all my other devices (laptop, ipod etc) are shes.
