Cheryl (cherylllr) Hannibal Fortune is a time traveler in ancient Carthage, in The Time Trap Gambit. This is an interesting old pulp tetralogy (?) but I am struggling with this last one for some reason.

My Character is in Graiguenamanagh, no need to say: in Ireland.

Nancy Brady (minesayn) | 162 comments Finished the above, and now my main characters are in Ohio in the fictional city of Ogontz, which is on the shores of Lake Erie. The novel is "So Shelly" by Ty Roth.

The other book's main character is on a boat sailing toward the Orient (The Ginger Tree by Oswald Wynd).

Dorothy (vilette) | 59 comments I'm spread between Minnesota, Washington DC and New York with the characters in Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. Its a good book but I'm finding the bits about the environment and population growth rather depressing.

message 11: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 2 comments One of the main characters is currently in London, England during the Blitz; she's a reporter, working with Edward R. Murrow. One of the other lead characters is the postmaster, in the fictionalized town of Franklin, MA on Cape Cod. Am reading "The Postmistress" by Sarah Blake.

message 12: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) I'm not sure I have a main character. Lots of people are trapped in a baseball stadim in Pawtucket, Rhode Island: Bottom of the 33rd: Hope, Redemption, and Baseball's Longest Game. (An ARC I'll be offering on swap if anyone's interested.)

message 13: by Dorothy (new)

The Mistress Of Nothing by Kate Pullinger

As I forgot to take this book with me on our holidays on Thassos, I "had to buy" another book.
So I have been in Kingsbridge, some villages arround, London, Florenz, Normandie,...

World Without End
Over 1000 pages but I finished it within 7 days, although we had a full holiday programm with friends and sightseeing. It was great, a good follow up to The Pillars of the Earth.
