Where's Home?

Your question actually reminds me of a quote from Cutting for Stone:
"Wasn't that the definition of home? Not where you are from, but where you are wanted."

I grew up in Fullerton, California but (surprise) now live in Ketchikan, Alaska. I moved here 34 years ago because when I came on vacation it felt like home. I won't give my age exactly, but I have 40-something daughters.

Currently working & living in Bangalore,India.

It's great to have so many people from all over the world reading together!

Interesting quote, Georgiana. Unfortunately for me, the more I think about it the more I think that I'm not wanted anywhere. Don't mean for that to be depressing. But my life has been scattered across the US.

Yes. I've lived in Elk Grove and Sacramento also. Wilton is always better.

You are right....as you go east to Palm Springs Yucaipa then Beaumont then Banning then Cabazon and then the turn off to Palm Springs.

I'm a teacher, my husband is a firefighter, and we have two girls to keep us busy.

@Viola, we use to say that home is where we have a roof over our head."
Home is where your roof is. :)

@Valerie, I work in Wilmington, NC now and LOVE Asheville but couldn't bear it in the winter :)

Dianne, I have lots of friends and family in the Sac/Chico area.... none in Wilton though... has it grown much over the years? I remember it being small the one time I went through it.

I lived in Placentia for a few years and went to Fullerton Junior College.
I was born and raised in Hawai'i but I've also lived in Union City, Tennessee and Placentia, California. Back living in Hawai'i which will always be home.

The campus of Fullerton Junior College will always be the picture I have about learning when Kennedy was shot. It was such a beautiful place, at least until then.

I love NYC! :)

We really appreciate all who stop on fast food row and spend their money. :)

Native New Yorker here. LOL
I was raised in Idaho. I now live just a bit north of Austin. But I consider WA home. I'm all sorts of messed up.
I've noticed many of you from different places, and thought it might be fun to get a feel for that.
I'm Becky from Denver, Colorado, USA.
