Manybooks Just a suggestion for further themes. The next time, you list themes to vote on, we should probably make sure that we have at least five books with a particular, given theme on the bookshelf list (the suggestion box) before listing a theme. I know that the Native American/North American theme had a goodly selection of books because I added quite a few of them a while back.

Yes, you are right Gundula. I should have made sure that I had enough summer books to make this theme, so I guess we'll have to go with the books we have right now for now.

Manybooks Here are four more books from the bookshelves that might fit the bill (for a summer theme)

Under Alaska's Midnight Sun (summer solstice celebration)

Gathering the Sun: An Alphabet In Spanish And English (deals with Spanish American themes, but also deals with migrant farm workers, who would usually work in the summer and early autumn)

Up Home (has some wonderful summer themes and nostalgia for summertime of childhood)

Freedom Summer (this looks more like a book about racism and prejudice, but the season is summer, so that may work)

Manybooks These picture books would also definitely work, but they have not been added to the bookshelves yet. All of them have a summer theme and all of them have less than 150 reviews (Ronyell, it's up to you wether you want to add them or consider them).

The Summer Solstice

The Longest Day: Celebrating the Summer Solstice

Summer Dreams

Florina and the Wild Bird

Carl's Summer Vacation

Celebrating Summer

Think Cool Thoughts

Ellen (elliearcher) Thanks Ronyell- I'm not sure how to respond. I mean, literally: am I supposed to cut & paste or just click or what?

Sorry to be obtuse, :(

Oh, you can just type down the books on the list that you want to read or you can go to the add book option on the top of your comments. But, probably the easiest way is to copy and paste the books, whichever option is the easiest for you. Hope this helps! :D

Lee Pritchett (lee_pritchett) | 10 comments I don't know about a third book, but I think Florina and the Wild Bird sounds like a sweet little story that kids would like. My second choice would be Harriet and the Roller Coaster, it just sound like fun. I also really like the artwork on these covers.

Manybooks When do we find out which books have been chosen, and when are the book discussions supposed to start (for all of the chosen books).

Usually I post up the discussion board on the first day of the month, but I couldn't get on the computer lately, so I was a little late in posting up the discussion board, but here is the board:
