I finally started the short story schedule. Most of these stories available online so you can read them separately from the collection. The discussion will take place once every two weeks and everyone is welcome to join in on the discussions and please do so. I love to have new insights and a good debates!

I thought of starting off with Gogol's "The Overcoat." Thought it's more appropriate since many critics introduce this as the greatest story in the Russian language and Dostoyevsky himself said, "We all come out from Gogol's 'Overcoat'."

May 15. The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol

May 29. Father Sergius by Leo Tolstoy

June 12. The Bracelet Of Garnets by Aleksandr Ivanovich Kuprin

June 26. The Lady with the Little Dog by Anton Chekhov

July 10. Master And Man by Leo Tolstoy

July 24. Mumu by Ivan Turgenev

August 7. The Death of Ivan Ilych by Leo Tolstoy

August 21. The Little Orphan by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

September 4. The Queen Of Spades byAlexander Pushkin

September 18. In the Ravine by Anton Chekhov

October 2. The Dream of a Ridiculous Man by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

October 16. The Nose by Nikolai Gogol

October 30. Family Happiness by Leo Tolstoy

November 13. Ward number 6 by Anton Chekhov

November 27. The Death of Dolgushov - Isaac Babel

December 11. The Forged Coupon by Leo Tolstoy

I'll see you all on May 15 and afterwards according to the schedule. Each discussion begins on a Sunday. I hope you keep this place alive with your comments after all this is a reading group. Enjoy!

Amalie.
