I study in Australia and takes Japanese as minor. Muzukashii yo! :(
Man, I wish I can speak Japanese or read for that matter. I've been dying to learn, but I hate sitting in a classroom. Any advice for me who's trying to learn the language on my own?

Any advice for me who's trying to learn the language on my own?"Yes, you can learn the language on your own using podcasts & other online materials but I'd advise you to practice speaking, preferably with a native speaker. You can find one online (Skype lessons) if you can't find anyone living nearby who might be able to help.
I used to join Japan Foundation & Japan Club when I was still living in KL. That's how I met lots of Japanese friends who helped improve my Japanese.

There's a free online course @ Tokyo University of Foreign Studies' website (http://cblle.tufs.ac.jp/moodle/login/...) but it may be a bit difficult for beginners.
OMG! I love you! I so owe you for the info. I'm looking into it now. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have so many things I wanna learn, Japanese is just one of it ^^ I am going to master the language and then I'll ask you which book to read =D Thanks again ^^
