Abby | 19 comments Oh hell..well if we're going with the VERY first Paranormal , Non romance novel, then my first one was about two twin sisters that were blond and had just moved into a new house, when weird things start happening, One of the sisters end up dying and the other eventually becomes an actress and while on set weird things start happening as well....It was a series but I just can't remember who wrote it :)

Since we're delving back...I'd probably say my first experience was also with Anne Rice. I read Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice and The Vampire Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles, #2) by Anne Rice pretty close together. I think I went to Twilight next and then discovered the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Beckey | 43 comments Mine was flowers in the attic by V C Andrews. Not very paranormal but mental. Some say mental things are @ time related to being controlled/haunted by an outside source...like demons & ghosts...

PS if I am not typing straight or making sense, sorry. Its 5am here and I need more coffee...

Sheri (jett_roses) | 14 comments Do R.L. Stine books count? I still have all of his books I got growing up. Christpher Pike was a fave of mine too in junior high.

I would say he does, I use to save my allowance and go and buy his books, I loved his fear street Saga....

Pam Froman (pamburger) | 17 comments LOL. Ok, I'm dating myself here but...

Does anyone remember the author Lois Duncan? I read her and Christopher Pike religiously. This was back in say, Jr. High? Now Pike is still around and I am gonna get to his Thirst Series...at some point or another. Heehee...

message 14: by Christina (new)

Christina I am so ashamed to admit this but I have never read Christopher Pike *hanging head in shame* LOL I need to catch up!!

If you read Christopher Pike religously, you may have already read Thrist 1 & 2, they are the first 6 books in his The Last Vampire series, I learned that the hard way when I bought them and started to read them.

message 16: by ChaosDuchess (new)

ChaosDuchess | 4 comments Well, I have to rate A Wrinkle in Time as my first because I look at Sci Fi as part of Paranormal and for a kid, that's pretty paranormal! But as far as romances go, what hooked me was A Darker Dream.

message 17: by Pam (new)

Pam Froman (pamburger) | 17 comments I knew the first had The Last Vampire in it, but I never read the other 6 so I guess it will sort of be new to me. :-)

message 18: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (boydbooks) | 3 comments I was literally in love with Interview With the Vampire when I was younger, so I would say that would have been my first real paranormal introduction. I'd been reading Goosebumps (yes, I know, silly) and ghost stories forever, but that was the first real novel that got me into paranormal books.

And I even got to meet Anne Rice and have her sign a copy of Servant of Bones, I was so excited I couldn't even talk to her.

message 19: by Christina (new)

Christina Abigail...you met Anne Rice?!?!...jealous (-; Now that's awesome!!!

message 20: by Terri (new)

Terri (mommy0306) | 16 comments mine was twilight (after watching the movie)... it also made me realize how much I missed reading.

message 21: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (boydbooks) | 3 comments Yeah, it was at a book signing -- I was about twelve or thirteen I think, and we waited in line for three or so hours, and by the time I went up to actually have her sign the book and have my picture taken with her no words would come out of my mouth.

message 22: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 22 comments I have to say it was the Twilight series for me too. I never was a "big" reader, but when all of my friends at work started talking about it (I was dead set against reading it) I finally caved and said let me borrow your book...then I went and bought the rest of them the next day lol...I've been reading ever since! lol

message 23: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Nolan (rnolanauthor) | 6 comments In my teens it was Anne Rice but then i gave up trying to read with young kids so twilight helped me get back into it all over again.
