Dee (austhokie) Since most of the challenges we've done thus far have only been a month long, I thought I would introduce a new longer one that we could play with. Hopefully some of you guys are interested. I'm calling it the What Do I Read Next? Challenge and for this challenge, we'll be using the following website: http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/

To Start Off:
Pick a UF/PNR book that you have recently read which you gave 5 stars to, and using the above website, plug in the title. An example for me would be Twice Bitten. You do not have to hit return after completing the title, rather, a list should drop down below, select the title and click on it. From here you should get a list of related books.

Select a book on that list and read it. For example when I put in Twice Bitten, Tempting Danger is one of the results. If when you've completed it, and you enjoyed it, plug that title into the What Should I Read Next and select another book (i.e. Tempting Danger).

If you didn't enjoy it, go back to the first book you entered (Twice Bitten) and try another book.

Hopefully you guys will have some fun and find some new reads this way.

Start: June 1
End: November 30

Lady Allison | 150 comments Dee, what a great series!

message 6: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) do you guys want to keep editing your original msg, or start a new post, when you pick another book...thoughts?

message 7: by Lady Allison (new)

Lady Allison | 150 comments It's probably easier to just start a new post than have to search for our older ones...

message 8: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) I can start a list up the top of who has what posts...but i'm not expecting many people to participate...lol!

message 9: by Lisa O. (new)

Lisa O. | 77 comments I put in Magic Bleeds by Kate Daniels and got a lot of suggestions, I picked Rogue by Rachel Vincent since I just read Stray last month.

Rogue (Shifters, #2) by Rachel Vincent

Valorie I'm in! I love this website, what a great challenge! Can I start in July and go to December?

message 11: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) sure! I'm debating just making this a rolling challenge...6 months from whenever you start

I have a suggestion to help with this issue. If you check out my 2011 challenge list, you will notice that my first post lists all the current challenges I'm working on for every group. Once I complete a challenge, I delete the link from message 1 so it doesn't get cluttered. Each group has a list of challenges and if you click on the link it takes you to my post (within My 2011 Challenges) so it can be updated. That post then has a link back to my actual post on the challenge itself. This makes it simple to keep track of all the challenges I'm involved in and super quick and easy to find every single post for updating.

To be directed immediately to your post on a particular thread, click on the time on the message bar. (Ex: message 7 Lady Allison, May 30, 2011 11:29 am.) Click on the time and you will notice that the link changes to include the comment number. Then cut and paste the some html ok "link" code into your post, and replace the generic "www. goodreads .com" info with the comment link.

Any questions, let me know.

message 13: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Well I tried the link with three books that I rated 5 stars this month and none of them were listed. hmmmmm.

I tried a couple more non PNR and came up with zilch. I'll give it another try next month when I've read something else that might work.

Barbara ★ Thanks for the help Dee!!!

I'm starting from Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger by Gail Carriger which I absolutely loved. To continue, I've chosen Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) by Rachel Caine by Rachel Caine.

Dee (austhokie) ok, so far I put in Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3) by Chloe Neill and got One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost - I gave this 4 stars, so I used it and got Magic to the Bone (Allie Beckstrom, #1) by Devon Monk

Lady Allison | 150 comments I finished The Duke And I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn yesterday & really enjoyed it! Starting on the 2nd one now & will make time for Stephanie Plum soon :)

message 17: by Lisa O. (last edited Jul 05, 2011 07:38AM) (new)

Lisa O. | 77 comments I finished Rogue this weekend and I liked it well enough. I think it had a good story but Faythe gets on my nerves sometimes. I went ahead and used this to get me next pick though and came up with Howling at the Moon by Karen MacInerney.

Howling at the Moon (Tales of an Urban Werewolf, #1) by Karen MacInerney

message 18: by Lady Allison (new)

Lady Allison | 150 comments Lisa, Faythe gets better, I promise! The first two are good, but the last 3 are AMAZING. Seriously, when you have time, go back because it's worth it!

message 19: by Lisa O. (new)

Lisa O. | 77 comments Thanks Lady Allison, that's good to know, I'll make sure to continue the series!

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 16 comments I am going to try this out. :) Do you mind if we use YA PNR titles? Or do they have to be adult?

message 21: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) you can use whatever PNR/UF you want...the more popular the book the more choices you'll probably get - have fun!

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 16 comments Thanks, Dee! I think I will use Shiver by Maggie Stievater as my starting book. :)
