Lori (moderatrixlori) This is the second book in the series and is the story of Sebastian Wroth and Kaderin the Cold Hearted.

From Kresley Cole's website:

A vampire soldier weary of life. . .
Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire—a nightmare in his mind—against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live. Until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.

A Valkyrie assassin dispatched to destroy him. . .
When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow—accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings—particularly lust—emerge multiplied. For the first time, she’s unable to complete a kill.

Become competitors in a legendary hunt. . .
The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity--as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world--to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she's falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?

Heather Gunnell (patchworkwitchbooks) I really liked this one. I read nearly all of it in one sitting. :)

Keia | 6 comments It took me a little bit longer to get into this one - with the Hie and all. I wasn't really following at first, but once I got into it I LOVED it!! I'm excited to read the rest of the books!

Cassandra I think I read this one first (I was confused about the order they'd been written in), and I loved it. A supernatural "amazing race." What a great idea. I loved how Sebastian was so incredulous of his feelings towards Kaderin. The character development and relationship development were really well done.

Eastofoz I liked The Amazing Race idea too. It was a very fast paced read.

Christy Stewart (christyleighstewart) I always give any book that begins with suicidal characters 5 stars.

Ilse Snell | 121 comments I liked this book as well...
The Hie was a great idea...i loved the trekking to different parts of the world.
And of cause Sebastian was drool worthy. And he started off with the purest intent to get his bride, and then he started ploting, and bribing her to get to spend time with her, which made me like him even more. He was clever, and stubborn! And when he said "he was the first vampire to trace to a human, and he shall be the first to forsake his bride"... I was like oh hell no!! I loved the competition, narrowing down to it being Bowen, Cindi Bastian and KK. And even though i wanted Sebastian to win, my heart broke for Bowen...

This book was intense. Sebastian was delicious. Kaderin is a lucky valkyrie. :)

Ez (ezrah-rah) There'll be spoilers for NRftW in Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night, but if you don't mind that, you can skip ahead.

Ang -PNR Book Lover Reviews (pnrbookloverreviews) Cool thanks for the head up Harper :)

I just started this book and was hooked right away. Sebastian broke my heart.... he was soooooo sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He seemed so innocent.

Coffeentea | 3 comments This book was the reason I started this series. I was interested in reading this book, but I realize that it's book #2 in a series. So I started with A Hunger Like No Other and then read this. The plot of an immortal amazing race really intrigued me. And all the quests that require them to fly all over the world, travel through the jungle and swim in the ocean doesn't disappoint at all. I really love the sacrifices that Sebastien was willing to make for Kaderin. This is definitely one of my favorite books of this series.

Oh, I adore Sebastian. He is such a sweetie, like you said, Faithmarie! Again, I am in agreement with you you have said here, Coffeentea and Kim.

Lori {Romancing the Dark Side} (romancingthedarkside) | 10 comments I didn't enjoy this one as much as A Hunger Like No Other. I think the whole Hie took up most of the chances of more romance between Kaderin and Sebastian and at times was a little boring. That being said, I absolutely loved Sebastian...what a gentleman! He's another Alpha male on my list...at times I thought he was too good for Kaderin but then changed my mind. They're both tortured heroes who deserved a HEA! Looking forward to jumping into the next one...I actually read Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night years ago before I knew this was a series but now I feel I will understand it better.

Lori {Romancing the Dark Side} (romancingthedarkside) | 10 comments I love the series I was just hoping for something else with Kaderin and Sebastian..but it all worked itself out in the end!

I loved Sebastian! I actually liked the adventure in this book, but Kaderin took a while to grow on me.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah... If the males are Alpha and Beta how would you describe the females..... some are sweet and get strong towards the end and some are just strong and even all the way through and some are Bs all the way and get okay in the end.

Can anyone understand a thing I just wrote? I am in my own world....

I use the term alpha for heroines too. I suppose you could use beta as well.

Alexa | 62 comments Quizz created about NRftW, under the tags of immortals after dark and kresley cole.
For everyone who enjoyed the story, hope you enjoy the quizz too!

Would you mind putting up a link for this or giving the website?

Stephanie North-Skars | 4 comments I LOVE this book. Sebastian Wroth… Hot, sweet, shy, adorable, brave and smart. At first, I thought maybe this book would be boring. I thought I wouldn’t like Kaderin. But since the beginning, I LOVED her. She is not an easy heroine, but all her motivations and fears are clear. I understood her suffering and why she was so torn in her love for a vampire. So, her love for Sebastian was very precious. Lovely couple. Oh, and the Hie was fun!

Lauren (laurenjberman) Just finished No Rest... and absolutely loved it even more than Hunger.... Sebastian is such a mix of strength and vulnerability, I just wanted to take him home for a cuddle *sigh*.
I enjoyed the Talisman Hie - it was great background and really helped with the characterization especially Bowen. Can't wait to see how he overcomes his curse...

Sebastian is adorable! I liked the Talisman Hie idea as well. Kaderin had to grow on me, but it was fun watching Sebastian win her over.

Kryptonite (sg34) | 88 comments Completely agree. This book was what go me hooked to IAD. I loved Sebastian and Kaderin. Kaderin had to grow on me too.

Lauren (laurenjberman) I agree about Kaderin. It took time to warm up to her but she is a great match for Sebastian.

Ellen (shadowmaster13) | 113 comments I loved this book soo much. I liked Kaderin basically from when she tried not to blush about riding Sebastian instead of ridding the world of him.

And Sebastian was such an adorable mix of ruthless and sweet.

Well said, Ellen!

Jamie (epic_lover) | 4 comments So I am currently reading this book and I must say it is taking me much longer to get through I don't know if it is because I am reading Kristen Ashely at the same time or if it just seems to be starting off slow. There seems to be good moments but I think if things don't pick up then I might put it down till I finish my KA reads.

Jamie, my issue was I didn't care much for Kaderin initially. But I think some books don't hit you when you're not in the mood for them. Probably best to put it down until you feel like reading it.

Darknessa | 16 comments This book is my favorite, I made a blessed mistake and read it second before a hunger like no other.
Where everyone else dislike Kaderin, she's one of my favorite heroines in the series. I really loved her and was fascinated by the cold assassin she portrayed. She was such a challenge for Sebastian and I loved every step of their journey. Everyone disliked her coldness, but it was what made her the person she is.

I also believe like so many of the series readers, not only the character and we adore our beautiful hero, Cole harbors a secret love for Sebastian, he was the only hero who was given a 'gift' by an entity :D
I'm so eager to know what they'll do with the Key.

The book also includes some steamy scenes that get my heart racing every single time like the first I read them.

I'm completely biased when it comes to this book, I love the entire series, but this one *cough*Sebastian*cough* is very special.

Chrissy Morris (reading-huntress001) | 10 comments Oh my goodness Darknessa, you will absolutely love wat they do with the Key. I'v Read the whole series of IAD and let me tell you, STEAMY! you will love this book with Sebastian and Kaderin.

Darknessa | 16 comments Hey Chrissy! I've read the entire series as well! It's my favorite by far! and this book is my favorite among them! Sebastian and Kaderin are just too good together!
I know they're intending to bring back his family, but do you think this's what's going to happen? I think they'll put it to a different use.
Cole seldom does anything without a reason.

Chrissy Morris (reading-huntress001) | 10 comments Kaderin got her sisters, which makes her really happy so why shouldn't Sebastian be really happy as well to have his family back. A tit for tat you know?

I agree with you a 100% about Cole

Jamie (epic_lover) | 4 comments Ok so I just finished this audiobook and it was okay for me. I must admit I had really high anticipation of enjoying this one since both the h/h were inexperienced however for some reason I just don't think this will be one of my favorites. Majorly because I hate the High and I didn't get a really good Sebastian scene with the others at Val Hall. It was an okay read but maybe Bowen's book will be better, I mean he is a werewolf after all.

Marlene (missnewyorkxoxo) | 20 comments Sebastian won me over by the end of the book because him and I had so many ups and downs, but by the end of the book I totally loved him. He treats Kaderin, one of my favorite heroines, with such love and care.

The Bodacious Bibliophile (thebodaciousbibliophile) | 2 comments Hey everyone
Just started this series. And loving it so far. Does anyone know why they are so short? The books I mean. They only have half the amount of pages most books have. Just curious.

Akina | 24 comments I don't think the books are short at all. NRFTW is 384 pages. Its shorter than a typical George RR Martin book but its huge compared to a Harlequin Romance. But regardless, Kresley Coles packs a punch in all of her books. Her quality far exceeds her quantity of pages.

I heard this on the radio today and my ears perked up at the title. Could the Swedish artist be a fan? As Valkyrie come from Scandinavia all that...
