I think that sounds like a great idea. I miss the book club we used to have on the EJ & JQ board.
Oh, and if we want maybe we could start with JQ's new book since it just came out today and I am sure a lot of us will be getting that one.
Sounds good to me! Of course I am 2/3 of the way through already. I would love to be able to talk about it.
Very good! So we agree to start with JQ's new book. I'll start a thread and we can start discussing! :)
Awesome! I am going to pick up the book tomorrow. I didn't want to get it today since I had to grade my summer class's midterms. If I had the new book in hand, I wouldn't have gotten them done! :)
Hi All
I hope you noticed that Manda posted threads for this discussion.
I am going to suggest that we do either Loretta Chase's new book, or Meredith Duran's new book for July, since both are out at the end of June. And maybe the other one for August.

I've already read Silk Is for Seduction and loved it, and the Duran is on my TBB list. I'm fine with those choices too.
I plan on reading the new Loretta Chase book, but I have never read anything by Meredith Duran, so I probably won't get that book since I have a huge tbr pile to catch up on and told myself that I can only by a book a month until I do.
Kasey--you could try your library. She's fabulous--even if they don't have her new book its worth reading anything they have by her.
Dis, I know, but I have a ton of books that I have bought that I need to read, so it isn't really the money, it is more about the time I need to catch up on them. :)
I know, that's my problem too! Still, its worth trying to read her when you dig down in the pile a bit. She is absolutely wonderful.
(I'm trying to turn to my nonfiction TBR pile right now.)

So we all agree with Silk Is For Seduction by Loretta Chase for July and Meredith Duran's A Lady's Lesson In Scandal for August?
On some of the other book clubs when they do a monthly read, it features it at the top of the page under a currently reading section. Manda, is there a way we can do that so everyone knows which book we are reading? I think you can even do an upcoming book too. It displays the cover and the timeline we are reading the book. I tried to see if I could do it but I think only the moderator can add that.
Nevermind, I was playing around with it today and I figured it out. I can do this every month if it helps.
I have a question. I haven't read Meredith Duran before. Do any of you know if the August read is part of a series? I looked on her website, but couldn't find it. Are her books all stand-alone books?
They are standalones. Two have characters that interact (Written on your skin and Bound by your touch) and occasionally familiar names pop up, but htey are in no way part of a series.

Hi Anon,
You might try Julie Anne Long's Pennyroyal Green series. It starts with The Perils of Pleasure and is a delightful series.
You might also give Tessa Dare's Spindle Cove series. It starts with A Night to Surrender.
Good luck! I know that "gotta have a new book" feeling!

You might also try Teresa Medeiros, Elizabeth Holt and Mary Balogh. Balogh is more love story, while Medeiros is more fairy tale and Holt is steamy romance.
They are my favorites next to JQ, EJ and LK.
I love all those authors. Try To Seduce a Sinner by Holt (although its the second in a series), Slightly married by balogh.

Here are some of my favorites:

Oh and I misspelled Elizabeth Hoyt (it's a 'y' not an 'l', sorry about that)

Sarah Maclean, Tessa Dare, and Sabrina Jeffries are some of my favorite, although they might bit a little steamy. For contemporary romance I love Jennifer Cruisie and Susan Mallery. hope you find some that you'll like :)

Have you tried Anne Gracie? Her romances nearly always move me to laughter and tears. Her most recent book An Autumn Bride is the first in a new series, but I love her Perfect series and her Devil Riders. Loretta Chase is a never-fail author for me. If you've never read her, her novella "The Mad Earl's Bride" was recently reissued digitally, an easy way to try her at a small cost.
