He frustrates the shit out of me, but for some strange reason, I don't hate his guts. He intrigues the hell out of me because it always seems like he's holding something back. Like there is something that he keeps tucked away from the rest of the world and isn't letting anyone in on it just yet.
And it's hard to hate him when I would totally shag him if he were real.

And jackass with a heart of bronze is perfect. It's like he tries to be gentlemanly, but then he just screws it up his Dex way, and still manages to get something across because Perry is invested. You can tell she's got that glimmer in her eye in this book amd she's only just met him.

That is indeed true. There is always one of those guys out there, and the fact that you hate them makes them even more appealing.

Just finished reading the series, totally waiting for the 5th book. Dex Foray is such an interesting character.He is such a jerk and yet he makes me want him if he was real of course. Just wish him and Perry would get together already and stay together. Book #4 through me for a loop and patiently waiting to see what is going to happen.
Okay, my turn! I just finished #5 like 20 min ago, and for all that happened in Book #4, I'm still on Team Dex. He's so messed up, he manages to be both strong and vulnerable, and with every admission of how much better life is with Perry (aka, *you*) how can you not get sucked in?And yet, the fantasy of him is what messes with my mind. So long as he's just an idea, I'm totally smitten. If I were to know an actual him (and in some cases, I'd say my sister dated someone like him), then I'd take the first train out. Maybe. Okay, coffee, that's it. I swear. Maybe.
Book 5 wrenches me a bit, not surprisingly.

I hear ya about Dex, Book#5 I was getting worried when Dex didn't show up till the end,But thank god he did it was well worth the wait.. He stills my heart away for some reason always. How about that coffee?

Don't get me wrong I love Dex especially now since reading The Dex Files but hey, he was sleeping with that skank Jenn the whole time while Perry had to sit and watch.Oh and I agree with Emmy... this group needs to be resuscitated. ;)

I just want to say I love Dex!. I think Max is a S.O.B. with a hidden agenda. What that might be I have no clue. But Perry needs to steer clear of him. I was so happy that Dex finally showed up at the end of the book. Now I am waiting for the Dex-Files to come out on kindle so I can get my Dex fix. I only have to wait another couple of days (sighs).
I have to say, Dex is very speical to me. He may be an ass and have many issues, but who doesn't? Everyone has a past and the odd thing about this series is how much i relate to it. The way Perry and Dex act with each other is so similar to me & my other half. Lost him earlier this year suddenly, but boy some of the stuff they do...and the way they talk too. I am such a bad mouth! (comes from talking on the CB radio too). I think Max has an agenda we don't know about yet, but I love Dex. Could use him around to get out of this funk i am in too.
How can you not love Dex! Loving him is inevitable! Not much else to be said for that! ;)
Love. And I mean LOOOOOOOVEEEEEE. As in swoon. As in, leave my husband and kids and go on ghost hunting adventures with him. I love his filthy mouth, his rapist facial hair and his old spice/nicotine smell. Yikes. I may need Dex rehab. Thank god he isn't real, he'd have a stalker named Robin.
