I know this has absolutely nothing to do with blogging, but I thought it would be nice to find out about things that we are interested in.
Can be hobbies, books you enjoy, movies, food, etc....whatever you like :)

I personally enjoy reading many different genres of books, I love Erotica and Historical Romance and I enjoy many different kinds of movies too.
I love some of the old movies like 'Calamity Jane' with Doris Day, and 'Tammy and The Bachelor' with Debbie Reynolds to name two that I love. They just make me feel all happy and peaceful lol
I love Rambo 1, 2, 3 & 4, I love the Mad Max Trilogy, The Specialist, Schindler’s List, Fried Green Tomatoes, Batteries Not Included, Ghost Busters 1&2, What About Bob…the list would go on forever!! ;)
Of course I love many current moves too.

I create watercolour paintings when the mood strikes. I've tried to paint on demand but it doesn't seem to work for me. I find that strong emotions and very emotional times in my life inspire my best creations.

I love to sit and read on the couch, with a blanket over my knee and my kitty (named Mr. Kitty) nearby, purring away ;) It's very peaceful and relaxing.

I have to admit that I watch Dr. Phil off and on. Some of the shows are really interesting.
I watch some other TV shows off an on too like House, South Park, CIS, Will & Grace, the documentary channel and national geographic channel.

I love to take photos of nature and I try to find time to enjoy the quiet, little things in life too :)

Well now, didn't I just go on and on about things?? haha

Now it’s your turn...and lets make sure we comment (very nice & friendly-like) on each others interests and such.
This should be great fun :-)

What are your interests? Don't be shy now…

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 28 comments What a coincidence, Bobbie! When I read, I also like to curl up on the couch with a blanket and my cat (Miss Kitty) usually curls up with me.

Aside from reading, I also like movies. I would have to say my current favorites are the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Princess Bride or anything by Pixar. I also enjoy watching almost any romantic comedies or super-hero movies.

I like TV too. I'm a huge fan of Heroes and Chuck (can't wait for them to start up again). I also enjoy My Name Is Earl, Lost, Ugly Betty and lots of other shows. I'm a big fan of old TV shows too like I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island, Little House on the Prairie, The Addams Family and lots of others.

My most unusual hobby is psychology, specifically personality typing. I just think the human mind is absolutely fascinating, and studying personalities really helps me relate to and understand people better.

I also love learning about history with my favorites being American history and European history in the medieval, renaissance, and Victorian eras. In addition, I am an avid follower of current politics.

These are the main things that fill up my free time right now.:-)

How cool Julie :)
It’s just so nice and snuggly with a book, a kitty and a blanket isn't it?
I also have a female kitty, can you guess her name? lol Yes, it is Miss Kitty, like yours LMAO :) haha
I really went with an innovative and imaginative system for naming our kittens, gotta love it! You must have had the same idea.
God forbid I get a dog eh? I'd probably name him...oh I don't know....maybe... Mr. Dog? :) ROFLOL

Princess bride was one of the first movies that made be believe in true love. I saw it and thought: 'WOW, I want a man to go through that kind of hell for me too!' Guess hubby gets to everyday anyhow LOL hahaha :) j/k

I watch Ugly Betty once in a while...Hubby hates it lol
I really want to watch My Name Is Earl, its looks like fun :)

I love psychology too. I try to fathom the minds of people both good and bad, hence my expanding collection of books on the Holocaust & Serial Killers. Weird I know ;)

NorthernLightsGirl | 17 comments I love reading Historical Romances. I seem to be leaning toward Westerns. Funny a month ago it was regency.

When I actually sit down and watch a movie it is usually a DVD. My favorites are Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Message in a Bottle, French Kiss,
You've Got Mail, LoveActually and of course Princess Bride... I also Love Die Hard. And StarWars. I love anything Disney and or Pixar. I'm a BIG Muppet fan. Love that Kermit and Animal is hilarious!! Sometimes Ms. Piggy gets on my nerves! lol

As for T.V when I do watch it it is The oldies. I watch Food Network. My daughter and I watch the Next Network Star.. We boo and hiss for those we don't like and Cheer for those we do...

I enjoy painting. And Photography. I take my camera everywhere. I have tried my hand at Knitting. I gave it up because I was not good at it. lol But I have been toying with the idea of starting a Blog... Its still just an idea.lol

Thats about it...:)

Oh yeah.... Bobby how did you like the Holocaust book that you were reading?? That is a hard topic for me.. My sister in law felt that it never happened...(I won't follow that line at all!) Made for some real lively debates lol

Actually, I'll be writing a review on 'Eyewitness Auschwitz, Three Years in The Gas Chambers' By Filip Muller, by the end of next week.

I can't say that I enjoyed it because it’s so exceptionally graphic, but it was very, very real and it gets top marks for describing in exacting detail, what went on in Auschwitz-Birkenau during the holocaust.

Historical Romance novels are lovely :)
Those are all movies I love too NLG, you have great taste in DVD's ;)

What kind of oldies TV shows do you watch? Maybe I've watched some of them too.

That's great that you enjoy painting & photography...seems like a common interest among many of us in the group. What medium(s) do you use for painting NLG?

Can I call you by something other then NLG? Maybe even a pen name if you like :) NLG just seems so impersonal lol

I'm an Atheist and very proud of it!! :)

A great blog post on The Church of Atheism; very attention-grabbing and clever.
My husband and I enjoyed reading it and agree with you.

Much better *sighs* lol

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 28 comments Bobbie, I thought it was a weird coincidence when I saw you had a cat named Mr. Kitty. It's even more strange that we both have a Miss Kitty. When I read that I LOL.;) Actually, mine got her name, because the lower half of her face is all white with a tiny black spot that looks like a beauty mark. Because of that, the name just seemed to fit her.

Your cat's name makes more sense lol We're just uninspired animal labellers haha
I'm glad you laughed :) It's good for us!

NorthernLightsGirl | 17 comments OK I will try this again. LOL I had a novel going here and I pressed post and it told me it was saving it... Anyway!!!

Gilligans Island, My Three Sons, Little house on the Prairie, Andy Griffith Show, The Adams Family, All in the Family. Sanford and Son. All along those lines.

And any old Western that is playing on the tube John Wayne or not. lol

As for painting I like it all. But Acrylic is my favorite. Chalk is fun but for me tends to be messy. lol I tried oils but I think I will stick to Acrylic. I started taking tole painting classes and it snowballed from there. I will paint just about anything. And if it stops moving long enough I will paint that too!!:) Now the Scrapbooking is taking over what the paint missed. lol

Laura (laurastamps) No surprise here. I read erotica and paranormal romance.

I am also a Wiccan Faery Witch, a vegetarian, an avid gardener, and have been involved in feral cat rescue for 30+ years. At the moment I have 6 housecats (all ferals and strays) and a feral colony of 4 cats (down from 21 cats 3 years ago...got them all fixed and found homes for most of them). Meow! LOL

Thanks for sharing with us Laura, not that I've ever known you to be shy lol ;)
I love kitties too. I have two young cats and I love the little buggers :)

That’s very noble of you to rescue feral cats for so many years. Great job!

Julie (jjmachshev) (jjmachshev) | 10 comments Ummm I read just about anything (toothpaste tubes, cereal boxes, magazines, newspapers, books, e-books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc) and everything. I'm fascinated with etymology, ancient history, and languages. My TBR piles must be secretly spawning at night since they appear to grow daily. I watch the Discovery Channel, the History Channel and have recently become hooked on 'real crimes solved' TV shows (cold cases, New Detectives, Snapped, etc). My husband says he's starting to get worried!!

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 28 comments I don't have cable, and I'm probably better off without it. If I did, I'd probably always want to watch Discovery or the History Channel or something equally interesting and never get any reading accomplished.;) As it is, I already watch some stuff on PBS in addition to my other shows. I just can't seem to feed my brain enough.;)

>For both Julie's :)

I love TV channels that give me heaps of new info. too :) Our brains always seem to be looking for new and interesting things to learn eh? It's awesome!!

I try to keep our TV off from time to time, for the same reason as you Julie. It's distracting and takes away from reading time lol ;)

I read just about anything I see.
We (as a family) have the bad habit of leaving books, magazines, flyers, etc. in the bathrooms to read because our whole family is so addicted to reading ROFLOL ;)
When the bathroom (while on the toilet) starts being used as an uninterrupted reading area, I have to ban all reading material! ;) lmao
So of course, hubby then hides books and smuggles them in under his shirt and I have to unearth hidden book-stashes from the bathroom cabinet and bathroom cupboard. I feel like such a mean person when I do this, but come on…it doesn’t take an hour and a half to do your business *sighs* ;)
Reading is a chronic issue in our house!! :) lol

Julie (jjmachshev) (jjmachshev) | 10 comments Another family issue for me and mine...my 16 & 17 yr old boys are also big readers. When we go anywhere, we always have a book. In the car, we each have a 'nerd light' (one of those small headlamp lights) to use when it's dark outside. The worst is when we go to a restaurant. As soon as we order, we each pull out our books and read til the food comes. We drive my hubby bats since he's not as big a reader!!
