If you don't mind, I'd like to use your rules for our own Self Promotion Folder (in the Black Dagger Brotherhood-group).
Here's what I did: link.

If you're an active member, which it looks like you are, you can promote your own material in the Self-Promotion folder.
Hi, Kevin. If you're planning on being an active member of the group, then you can promote your novel.

Hi Michele,
You're in the right folder! You should post any giveaways in the Self-Promotions folder. :)
Thanks,
Pamela

:-)
Just an FYI for everyone using the Self-Promotion folder: if you post your self-promo in this thread, I'm going to assume you haven't read the rules up there, and I'm going to delete your post. Please be sure to read and follow the rules when promoting your own work. Thanks!

I have a question. It says create "one topic for each book we are promoting".
It makes sense, but just so I don't mess up. Say I have two series, I can basically dedicate one topic to that series. . .and all future giveaways with that series would only go in that topic? I would not make more topics about the same series?
This is also a rule for a blog too? Any giveaways for the blog should remain in the blog's one topic?

Just a reminder: please read the rules and post your self-promos as new topics in the Self-Promo folder, not as a comment in this topic.

You do ..."
Hi Pamela - fairly new to the group and loking forward to participation in the discussions! Also would like to promote my book series but can't seem to locate the Self Promotions folder.

Where would I post if I want to offer free copies of my books to potential reviewers?
I hope you have a lovely day.
Respectfully,
Melissa
You do not have to message me to ask if you can promote your work. If you're posting your stuff in the right folder, that's totally fine by me. Just go ahead and post; no need to ask permission.
1. If you want to promote your book, you must be involved in the community. If you join solely to promote your book and do not enter discussion, you are spamming. As of 9/11/08, if a self-promotion topic is posted and the author does not participate in any discussion, her topic will be deleted. If the author repeatedly posts self-promotion outside of the proper folder (i.e. in unrelated topics), the posts will be deleted. The moderator reserves the right to remove members who post spam comments without warning.
It is simply rude to join just to shill your books and not respect the community's rules by ignoring them OR the community's members by spamming them with book promotion and sockpuppet reviews. This will no longer be tolerated here at Paranormal Romance.
You do not need to send the moderators a message to ask if it's okay to post a self-promotion. Just read the rules, make sure you're following them, and post to the right folder. :)
2. All self-promotion topics MUST be posted in the Self-Promotion folder. This seems obvious, but I have had to move several posts from the wrong folders. All self-promotion topics posted outside of the Self-Promotion folder will be deleted.
There is some question about promoting books in topics where members ask for recommendations. You may post ONCE in each recommendation thread only if your book actually matches the member's request. If you post multiple times about your book in the same thread, your comments will be deleted, and you may be removed from the group.
If you are promoting a book for someone else (a friend, family member, etc), your posts should still go in the Self-Promotion folder.
Please do not post about your book as a reply in this thread. Your comment will be deleted.
3. Please create only one topic for each book you are promoting. In other words, if you've already made a post about one particular book, and you'd like to post a review or the like, post that as a reply to your topic. Don't make a new topic. Also, if you're going to bump your topic by adding a new post, bump ONLY for new content. If you post a contentless bump, your topic will be deleted and you may be removed from the group.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to send me a message. Thanks!
