Suzanne | 2 comments www.ereaderiq.com/free lists all the books that Kindle has free right now. I check it every couple of days to see if new books have been added.

message 3: by Teawench (new)

Teawench I don't have a Kindle but... There's a blog, kindleobsessed.com that occasionally lists free ebooks.

There's also Kindle Nation. I know they have a Facebook page and they're always listing books you can get for free.

And Smashwords.com has some free stuff as well as authors here occasionally giving their books for free.

Colby (colbz) You can only get ebooks for free (legally) if the authors are listing them for free. Usually, the cheapest is like 99 cents, but I reccomend Smashwords for free ones

Irene (smilingi) | 19 comments Kindle has a lot of free books, I get an email once a day listing their free ones. Kobo also has some free books.

Teawench If you have time to kill, you could also check out some book blogs. Seems a fair number of them have giveaways for free ebooks.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Donna | 1 comments I check on Amazon every day. Go in under Kindle ebooks and select bestsellers. You get a listing of both the top 100 paid and free books.

Raggedyann | 11 comments Sign up for Michael Gallagher's blog. He lists books that are free on Amazon every day and sends it to your email.

Thanks for this link--been lovin' my Kindle app more since I finally realized I could get the app on my phone, too, and that it kept my place reading either on the tablet or phone--I always have a book in my pocket now. That's amazing.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) My problem is, I want free ebooks, but don't own a kindle. Not about to read them on my pc with the free kindle-for-pc program when I have a Libre ereader. So I need free ebooks that aren't specifically formatted for the kindle (which is all Amazon carries). Smashwords.com is the only site I know of so far other than public domain sites of classics.

Anyone know of other places to find ebooks in other formats like epub?

Commit Purple Prose Most Nook books are epub format. ;)

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) My ereader can read about anything as long as it isn't in kindle format.

Maxine | 12 comments Have you tried Librarything? Authors list their books in Member Giveaways daily in exchange for a review. I have received lots of free ebooks. Most of them are from Smashwords and almost all of them offer the books in different formats including Mobi.

Casseroll Gutenberg.org. Project gutenberg creates free ebooks from the classics and older!
