I remember learning "ecstatic", too, Kate!
It was in Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews Edwards, when the High-Behind Splintercat fell into some catnip.

This was my favorite line of the day. Thank you, Sherri.:)
Sometimes my students ask me to tell them what certain words mean, and I'm almost always surprised. Today a freshman asked me what "manifest" meant, e.g. "How does the disposition of empathy itself in teacher behavior?" I'm glad she asked. Good kid.

And I dont know for sure but I have heard that chalupa is spanish for canoe can any one verify this?

So, maybe not exactly a canoe, but close, Mole.

Sometimes meetings can get boring.
I want a torta now.
Oh, I know this one!
Enchiladas are made with corn tortillas coated in a chili sauce, they are enchili-ed.
Burritos are made from flour tortillas, and aren't dipped in a sauce.

Maybe I'll call them Enchiltos. Or Burchiladas.
I hate it when people don't know how to say "Fajitas", and it comes out sounding like a venereal disease, speaking of mixing gross conditions and Mexican food, Sheila!

I've also heard someone pronounce 'tamale' as if it rhymes 'female.' No really. It's true.
Anyone else remember the MST3K episode where they came up with the Pat Morita Fajita? Or the Emperor Hirohito Rito?

Loquacious lugibrious lag*o*morph indeed. It was a hare-raising experience to say the least. Although, technically, not all lag*o*morphs are hares (leporids).

It's the literary version of 'emo'.
