B&N Nook Color & Tablet Users discussion

I have a Nook Color, which I love, but am very frustrated not being able to get Nook Friends to work. I've gone to B&N once and called 3 times. The last call lasted 1 hour and 1 minutes and all the guy managed to do was delete my library book and wipe out my Angry Birds scores. He finally told me that only Nook Color devices can be friends with other Nook Color and only the new Nook can be friends with with the new Nook so a Nook Color cannot be friends with a new Nook. This seems nuts to me.



When I go to the Nook Friends apps it says "Someone would like to be your NookFriend. Tap accept or reject" and directly under that it says "you have no Nook Friend requests". My friend is getting the same thing but I don't know which device she has.



Anyone else out there have problems with the Nook Color?

Also, I'd like to see if I can get this to work. If you have a Nook Color and are willing to add me as a friend, I'd appreciate it.

I've been having the same problems with Nookfriends since I got my Nookcolor too. I'm sending you a friend invite on my Nookcolor. Let me know if you receive it, Caroline!

I agree, it's nuts that the two Nook devices couldn't share friends. I believe he may have been wrong. The Nookfriends I had set up on my Nookcolor automatically loaded as friends on my new Nooktouch when I got it.

only invite i received was from Ann. I now have one friend so I have some hope thhis may work at some point.

I keep expecting B&N to announce an update to fix the app, but I haven't seen it come through yet. Yours is the first name I sent from my device which was successfully accepted. Others I have sent were never received. All you can do is keep trying with your friend.

I thought that because it was still in beta version it wouldn't work at all, but apparently you guys are getting it to work (on some level). Frustrating, I agree.

None of my Nookfriends are showing to have any lendable books on the Nookcolor, but they show up fine on the new Nook Touch. They really need to fix that app.

For the time being, I have a shelf here on Goodreads for lendable books I keep updated. Feel free to PM me if there is a book you want to borrow.

There is a service called EbookFling where you can join that and it does all the connecting you with other people. You get credits when you lend books out allowing you to borrow books from other people. I have lent my books out on there a few times. I have not borrowed any yet.

Has anyone been able to get Nookfriends working on the Nook Color? It seems like a great feature but I haven't heard much about it (successful lending)
