I don't do Twitter either. I really do not like the whole social media thing.

Diane: I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who does not do Facebook or Twitter. I, too, am not into the whole social media thing.

I find Twitter is great for marketing, I follow a lot of publishers and authors on it, and sometimes find some really interesting book-related articles. However, I do have some friends who just use it to tell everyone exactly what they're doing every second of their life. "I'm on the bus" or "I just bought some cheese". LOL. It's a great marketing tool, so can be handy if you have a blog, but I can see why it's not for everyone. I'm not one for broadcasting the tiny details of my life to the entire world!

I use twitter mostly to market my articles on a website that I write for. I think it's really confusing to use other than linking stuff but that's just me.

i was hacked into on FB about year ago and was pretty scary.They sent out letters to my mail list saying i was in over seas, family is very ill on and on wanting money. then my yahoo shut down and it took me alot of stress and frustration to get me back online and clean everything up. wasnt happy and never went back to FB. So hope this does not happen to anyone. So diane and Carolyn i join w/ u also LOL!!!

I had a friend that that happened to and the hackers actually tried to chat with me about what was going on but I did not talk to them. I did call my friend and she was fine, but she had to totally get rid of that account and open a new one. There are also a ton of viruses, you just have to be careful what links you open. There are so many kids on facebook, I won't let my 11 year old because of all the viruses and the games and apps give away so much imformation. But I still like it.

yes they tried to chat w/ one of my friends off and on. Carolyn i had alot to do cuz all my bussiness-banking had to b rerouted. Yahoo was very nice and helped me clear it all up but it took some time. i say i might go back to FB but lock up info and just basic chat ???

I've had my email account hacked a couple of times, and my Twitter one. I think there was a leak at Hotmail a few years ago? Anyway, someone started sending spam from both my email and Twitter accounts. Thankfully I caught it very quickly when I looked into my Sent folder and found tons of emails I'd never written. I changed my password to something impossible to crack (even my fiance can never remember how to spell it!) and it's been safe ever since then. It can be quite scary when it happens, though. But if you ever hear that there's been a password-leak with your email provider, definitely change your password ASAP rather than waiting like I did!
