Jake (ravensfan40) I'm a huge Ludlum fan. "The Matarese Circle" and "The Holcroft Covenant" are two of my favorite books of all-time in any genre. I also like "The Gemini Contenders" and "The Scarlatti Inheritance." I own five other Ludlums that I have yet to read: "The Chancellor Manuscript," "The Aquatine Progression," "The Osterman Weekend," "The Parsifal Mosaic" and "Trevayne." I'm calling on all Ludlum fans to give me advice. Which Ludlum do you think I should read next and, more importantly, WHY? Thanks!

Jake (ravensfan40) I also own "The Matlock Paper" so make that six.

Mel | 1 comments The Bourne novels. Why? Entertaining and Ludlum's legacy.

message 4: by Jake (new)

Jake (ravensfan40) I read the first two. I loved "Identity" and wasn't a big fan of "Supremacy." I'll get to "Ultimatum" at some point. But thanks! Right now I'm on "The Aquitaine Progression" and I really like it.

Scott E | 6 comments Hi Jacob. "The Aquatine Progression," and "The Parsifal Mosaic" are the first two Ludlum's I read and I couldn't recommend another two more. Highly readable (like most Ludlums) and very exciting. You're going to have an entertaining summer!

Malia (pixieshot) | 4 comments I honestly feel you can't go wrong with any of Ludlum's books. My favorite is The Apocalypse Watch.

message 7: by Jake (new)

Jake (ravensfan40) @Scott "Aquitaine" is really good so far and I keep reading that "Parisfal" is his best one by many. Thanks!

@Malia I read "Apocalypse Watch." Wasn't my favorite but it was pretty good. As far as his Fourth Reich books go, my favorite is "The Holcroft Covenant."

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) The Chancelor Manuscript, because it hasn't been mentioned yet. Or maybe the Sigma Protocol... both are good.

Jake (ravensfan40) I'm gonna read "The Chancellor Manuscript" sometime in the coming weeks. I'm finding out more and more that his golden age was the 1970s. I just read "The Rhinemann Exchange" and it was fantastic.

Kevin R. The Osterman Weekend or The Parsifal Mosaic if you haven't already finished both.

Roger Weston | 14 comments Read the Bourne Identity. You can't go wrong.

Gerald | 1 comments I have read most Robert Ludlum novels and as a group I liked them a great deal. I particularly liked The Gemini Contenders by Robert Ludlum The Gemini Contenders and and most especially The Scarlatti Inheritance by Robert Ludlum The Scarlatti Inheritance.

Georgia Z | 1 comments Hello!
I am researching espionage, intrigue, spy type novels for a high school group. I just picked up "The Parsifal Mosaic" and will not be able to read until a month from now. I would like someone to comment on the age appropriateness of this novel if you would please. Is there sex content and if so is it explicit or suggestive? I would also like to ask if there is a website that anyone may know of that lists content of books much like www.pluggedinonline.com does for films and video games. Thank you!

Muddle head (adic) Ambler Warning - purely for the Christie-like twist at the end.

Bourne Identity - for the way he treats the subject of a spy who lost his mind, well memory!

Matarese series - for the way it scares me whenever i hear about large corporations!

Your list works good for me!

Jake (ravensfan40) Thank you all for your helpful suggestions! You guys are great and you gave me so many great ideas. Since last posting on this page, I've read...

"The Aquitaine Progression" which was good, but could have been better.

"The Chancellor Manuscript" ditto, explosive start but limps to its conclusion.

"The Osterman Weekend" his first book, a fun read.

"The Rhinemann Exchange" amazing, probably my favorite of his after "Matarese Circle" and "Holcroft Covenant."

"The Parsifal Mosaic" I wouldn't say this is one of his best but it would be in my Ludlum top 10.

Ones I hope to read soon:
"The Matlock Paper"
"The Road to Gandolfo"
"Trevayne"
"The Prometheus Deception"
"The Sigma Protocol"

And just for the heck of it, my top 10:
1. The Matarese Circle
2. The Holcroft Covenant
3. The Rhinemann Exchange
4. The Bourne Identity
5. The Gemini Contenders
6. The Parsifal Mosaic
7. The Aquitaine Progression
8. The Scarlatti Inheritance
9. The Osterman Weekend
10. The Chancellor Manuscript

Thanks again, everyone!
