I got to say that the House of Night series is one of my personal favorites. I just love Zoey and her gang of Nerd Herd but i feel like PC cast is dragging it on to the point where she's losing readers. i'm still reading them but what book is she on now??- like the 7th one??- and all the books and plots are starting to blend together. does anyone else feel this way? or is it just me?

I'm in Kimi's boat. I've only read up to book five Hunted so where I'm at it doesn't feel like that completely, but the reviews I've seen about the other books worry me.
The only thing that I feel is dragging on at this point is the whole love triangle/diamond situation. I hate that Zoey keeps stringing Eric along.

I know first it was Heath, Erik, and Loren. Now it's Heath, Erik, and Stark. It's like she's always going to be stuck in some kind of romantic tangle.

I really love the plot of house of night series but I think the series needs closure.

After Two books about Kalona I got bored. I still read them but they really need a new bad guy:) And for christ's sake, when will zoey just Kill Neferet!

After I read the fourth book, I saw in the back of the book that there were at least four more books, and the eighth still had Kalona in it. Now I find it hard to keep reading while I know that they aren't really going to get rid of him.

No, the series has 12 books in all, but that's not including all the books that she writes on the side, like the book that just came out. i think it was something about Dragon, the fencing teacher.

I'm with Kimi, i'm just going to push the House of Night books away and start a new series.

I love the characters, and zoey but I'm tried of having to keep up with all the plots. Pc cast and her daughter are great writers but -please- come up with a new, shorter, series :)

It's not about the timeline for me. I just feel like some of the books could be complied into one whole book.

Other than that its a good series. It does sort of seem like its dragging on just because the number of books there are .

I've quit all together... I'm so glad all of you are so willing to keep up with the series.
I know Burned for sure could have been combined with Awakening etc. Overall I'm done.

Exactly.

The next one I need to read is the 6th, and I need some encouragement. From what alot of people have said, I'm really worried the series will begin to really bore me. Why do you think I should read it Zayna?

I definitely feel like it's dragging on. I'm a huge fan because as a Wiccan, it's nice to read something so closely linked with my religion. But it was getting quite hard to keep on reading. I think Awakened started getting a little less monotonous and a little easier to read. I have a feeling it's getting better again. At least I hope so.

BTW I really like the first book of HON but then there just wasn't enough plot to capture my interest

Honestly i think you should read them because the plot does change and i personally think they get better and better as they progress. Im not much of a Stark fan but Zoey does settle her guy problems and the books dont always have a love triangle. They really do get more and more interesting and im sure you'll be hooked after you read a little more :)

SAME HERE!

Unfortunately, it does pain me to say that the series is starting to drag. The characters themselves have stopped growing and changing in new, interesting ways. Instead, we just have the characters we all know - and now they are just following out the natural end of the story... but it makes it feel like Cast is just trying to finish the story, rather than really sculpt a beautiful ending for these characters.
I absolutely devoured the first six books of this series... I've now gotten to Awakened - but sadly, it has been sitting half finished on my shelf for a LONG time because there is just no longer anything drawing me back to it :(

I totally know what you mean! Some of the indecisiveness got irritating. No one can truly be THAT flaky, can they? haha
