I was talking to a close friend about the aspects of books that bother us. For instance: My friend hates cliche's. I am usually disappointed if the book doesn't surprise me.
So, as a warning to me... What do you hope I never do in my books? lol
What bothers me most is series books. Sookie Stackhouse is the only one I really like. Trilogys are OK. I can handle three books about the same thing. The type book I like best is a single long well told story. Or a book of short stories. What really bothers me are the prolific bad Vampire romance series books. The way they have changed vampire nature into an evil being into a super hero. I love Vampyre stories. Dracula is among my most favorite books of all time. But lately the vampire genere has been turned into a joke. No one researchs the old medieval folk lore. They just start making stuff up willy nilly. So for me without the background of folklore. The story becomes much less believable. I guess what I am saying is researching a subject you are writing about makes it more believable. No matter what your writing about.
So, as a warning to me... What do you hope I never do in my books? lol
