Jody Who has read the books and what do you think?

Jody I am so in love with this book. I could say I love it equal to Twilight, maybe more. Im expecting the movie to be amazing.

Adriana (adrinori) | 4044 comments Mod
i still have not read this LOL but i will eventually get to it..

Jody Trust me, read it. Make it your next book.

Marian (marianerika) | 1066 comments Is it nice? I can't wait to buy it!!

Jennifer (ivashkovlover) | 339 comments I have read it and it was amazing! At first I was a little weirded out by the hunting and crazy dystopian world but before I knew it I stay up all night reading it!

Jody I could not stop reading it either. I adore Peeta, he is just gorgeous. I am halfway through second book and I think Im going to be up very late. I cant wait fir the movie....I may pee my pants, too exciting!
@ Marian, Im telling you, you will love it.

Erin | 2 comments If you loved The Hunger Games give Divergent by Veronica Roth a try. I liked it even more than The Hunger Games!! Sooo good!

Thanks, I will read it. I just finished book 2 and I enjoyed it just as much.
Thank god its the weekend so I can read Mockingjay.

Jennifer (ivashkovlover) | 339 comments Yes Hunger Games has given me a new love for dystopian books and I just finished Matched and I loved Divergent. I am about to read Wither and Across the Universe next.

Im only 90 pages in of Mockingjay. Cant wait to see what happens. Who do you like more Peeta or Gale?

Jody Who is excited for the movie and what do you think of the casting so far?

I too loved Divergent much better than the Hunger Games and I highly recommend Across the Universe it was a really great read too

Jody wrote: "Who has read book 1 and what did you think?"

I've read the entire series and I loved the first two books and for me I wanted to throw Mockingjay across the room ... this book really frustrated me but it hasn't deterred me from wanting to see the movies I can't wait to see those

Jody I have read them all now too. I loved the last one, but the ending was so quick, I just felt like it needed more. More on Gale, that annoyed me big time! I cant even speak of Prim and Finnick. I had alot of questions still.
Why have so much happen in the end, and give us so little. So I loved it but share your view.

I agree I think the ending was rushed and was totally not a fair ending for Gale. I at least needed another conversation between them. I prefered him but I understand why Katniss ended up with Peeta but I at least wanted them to remain friends and speak and work through it.

I know it was like Gale was swept under the carpet, somebody so dear to Katniss. It just left you feeling like their relationship deserved a better ending.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
That's how I felt too that it was a little rushed and leaving you with so many unresolved questions regarding Gale and Katniss's mother etc...I really didn't like the fact that we didn't get to mourn the deaths of certain characters like Finnick (his death felt rushed and that annoyed me because he was one of my favourite characters)...

I know, she made us fall in love with Finnick and then BAM...he is gone. That was it. I was in tears. I think perhaps there was too much cramped into one book. The Epilogue, only one and half pages long (which I had to read 3 times) in itself could have been another book. I wonder if they called their little girl Prim. I did read somewhere that there will be 4 movies. So hopefully they will give us a little more.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
Well maybe we would get so much more closure then if they are going to be making four movies ... sounds good to me

Jody Well I know my fiance wont be happy with four movies because it means Im not going to shut up for the next four years. I cant wait until March.....hurry up

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
Lol it takes too long doesn't it!

Jody What do you think of the casting. Josh Hutcherson was not how I pictured Peeta but he is growing on me as long as he stays true to Peetas character. I read that lenny kravitz is going to play Cinna....very cool. I love the casting for Katniss and Gale.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
I think they have casted well...everyone is always against who gets cast in the beginning because they do not "look" the part but that's what makeup is for... as long as the acting is great than the movie will be good.

Jody Im dying for a first glimpse of the preview. Love to see who Finnick will be. I wonder if there will ever be another book.

Latasha (latashamd) One of the casting agents was quoted as saying "Kravitz did the best in terms of embracing the tension between Katniss and Cinna." Umm WHAT?! I have a bad feeling about that ...

I love Finnick so I too am curious to see who will be playing him...as for another book I don't think there will be

I think perhaps they need to read the books again. I really liked Cinna alot. Another character in the book I was upset over.

Jody I dont think there will be another book either...I was just dreaming for a bit. It would be nice to hear about Gale again. The more I talk about the book, the more frustrated I end up. Still love it too bits though.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
Yeah that's what so frustrated me that many of the characters we grew to love just died or disappeared without letting us know much about anything but I guess that is the grim truth about war

S.M. Reine (smreine) I LOVED the first book. It was just amazing. I couldn't stop reading it.

The second and third were still good, but I felt like they stretched the concept a little too far. By the time the end of the third one came around, I was kind of tired of them. I'll probably read them again later to see if they're better a second time.

Jody Hunger Games movie sneak peak on MTV VMAs. I will be watching in the morning. Live 10am here in aus.

Latasha (latashamd) The sneak peek was quite short... but I guess they have to get the word out about the movie. Gave absolutely no clue about what the movie would look like, but it comes out in March! How exciting!

Jody I know it was the shortest sneak peak ever. Such a tease. No Peeta or Gale, that is what I was hoping for. I agree, how exciting.

message 36: by S.M. (new) - rated it 4 stars

S.M. Reine (smreine) You'd think they could show a little more by now, considering it's out in about six months. :/

BUT I DON'T CARE I LOVE KATNISS :D

Jody I think there will be more to come real soon, well thats what Im telling myself. I want to see some of Peeta and Gale, although we will not see as much of Gale in this first movie. Loved the first book!

Latasha (latashamd) I'm glad Gale has a smaller part in all of the books. After Mockingjay I can barely stand to say (or type) his name!! Can't wait to have someone to boo at! Jk... I only do that to Jacob from Twilight ;)

BookishWasabi | 2 comments I've read them all :) All three are great, but I think the first one is GOOOOOOD!! the best of the three :)

Lexi (Pink Jellyfish) (blackjack13) | 61 comments My fav is the second one Catching fire...and i thought Mockingjay was a bit melodramatic...but i looove this series its amazing!

Carolyn I absolutely loved this whole series and can't wait for the movie next March. I just hope they don't pull a twilight with it and totally ruin it.

I gave this series to my 14 yr old nephew for Xmas last year and he read them in 10 days. He absolutely loved them as well.

Not sure which is my favourite, I loved them all.

Marni (wonderwmn999) Barnes and Noble and Amazon have the ebook trilogy for $4.38 right now.

message 43: by S.M. (new) - rated it 4 stars

S.M. Reine (smreine) I saw that! I bought it again even though I already have the trilogy, lol. Here's the link for the lazy: http://j.mp/nOx5xB

Marni (wonderwmn999) Lol! I had the first one but for that price duplicates are fine with me.

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 1269 comments The first book is one of my favorite books! Dont any other guys like this series?!

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
I agree David the first book was amazing and the second was close to the first but the third I had a love/hate relationship with it lol but it is a great series and one that I very much enjoyed reading and cannot wait to see it on the big screen ... the trailer gives me goosebumps every time I see it lol

message 47: by Mel (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mel | 13 comments I felt like the third book was a lot more emotionally raw. At the end of the first book, I still felt a little better about the ending, though it was still kind of sad but by the end of the third book you feel like you've gone through so much more with Katniss that you just feel emotionally spent. At least that's how I did. Also, in the first book, only one of the characters I'm invested in dies but in the third, Prim and Finnick die.

What did people think when Katniss killed Coin? Did anyone see that coming?

Sabrina (smilyface) | 6 comments I've read all three books. My favorite book though was Catching Fire. It was amazing!

Diana ❀ ☺ | 120 comments i just saw the trailer for Hunger Games on t.v.!!!!
