So when does EoE start?

It is so hard to keep up with them sometimes, Amanda. I have done the same thing with a few.

i agree on all counts! :D
and, the only thing i can guess is that these people aren't really three-dimensional characters, but allegorical representations...so, while it's long it isn't really a story at all, but the world's longest lecture on what happens if i'm not morally upright. in most books even bad characters have redeeming qualities that make them real...it seems that thackeray maked sure that none of his characters had anything worth redeeming, i don't care about them and therefore i don't care about what happens to them or in the book. :)

My review of the book, under my profile, makes a similar point.

I completely agree...I can usually read anything but this book is killing me!
I will finish it though and am excited to start East of Eden on 10/2.

It's coming up soon. Hope everyone has their copies ready to go. :)

I'm really struggling with what I've already taken on and I've started studying again. Disappointingly, I think I'm going to have to give this one a miss.

I am almost done...only 25 more pages (but that is with skimming the last 300 pages or so) LOL!

I'll try and keep up, though.

I finished Uncle Silas this week-end because I'm also participating in Three Musketeers and I don't think I can juggle three books at the same time. I had a difficult time doing it with just the two, but Three Musketeers will end a couple of weeks into EoE.

I have plans to finish Pillars of the Earth this week for the same reason.

Loretta -- can you fit EoE on the Group Home page as a currently being read book? Or isn't there room for five?

It still doesn't fit on the front page though... I think that's just a Goodreads default, though it comes up when you click on the "More books this group is currently reading" link.
It should appear on the first page when we finish one of our other reads. I think Uncle Silas is supposed to be done this coming weekend.
