Nicolle Okay! I will start next week probably.

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 138 comments Oops, I think I have to wait for the book I ordered last weekend. I might read the book later next month. Aw.

Trisha I think that this one is on my kindle, if it is, then I will jump right in. If not...I think that maybe it is buried on one of my book shelves...go ahead and count me in while I search for it...

Because you asked nicely I will let you join. :D

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) And I'm off. Started reading today! (Had to finish Day of the Triffids (surprisingly good read. Should get mentioned in the classics end of things I think. Every bit as classic as Space Oddessy 2001) ... Gladys is already getting on my nerves.

I started this last night. I like the writing so far. Good sly humor. Challenger is definitely larger than life.

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Finished The Lost World (TLW) and my review is posted. (sigh) Yes, I know I need a good word editor. I hope it's intelligible enough to be interesting, which is, of course assuming it is of interest to begin with.

I enjoyed this one a lot. I'd love to see what everyone has to say about it!

Martha (marthas48) I know this is a site for classics, but I read a wonderful book about Teddy Roosevelt a few years ago. He took a trip to South America and that was quite dangerous. Here's a link to it in case you're interested. I highly recommend it ... it reads more like fiction. The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 138 comments Hi guys, got my book in the mail today and planning to start reading tomorrow. So how's everyone's progress?

I finished it a few days ago. I'm glad you're going to start today, Kwesi.

Martha, that book sounds interesting!

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 138 comments Thanks Danielle! I finished the book yesterday and it was a good read. Wish everyone done reading the book so that we can start discussing things.

Trisha Just finished it and I loved it! It was such a fun read, all of the action and over-the-top heroism, I can't wait until my little munchkins areold enoughto read it!

Roxton was my favorite!

Trisha Mine too! What a great character!

I totally agree. Have you watched the tv show? It came on several years ago. I fell in love with Roxton on there, and I am happy to say that I loved him in the book just as much if not more.

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Challenger was my favorite. Um... I'm glad he's not my friend but... he was a hoot! I was hoping Big Ben would fall on Gladys.

I remember that show... Jennifer O'Dell ... Lady Veronica? ... something like that. That show got pretty involved for a "Cable only" Sci-fi Tv show.

I got so sucked into that show! I have all the seasons on DVD.

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) I need to get them, but one look at Jennifer O'Dell in her "me Jane" costume and my wife eh... lets say she had second thoughts about the over all value of this series.

I loved Roxton! He is a little different from in the book, but he captures his spirit pretty well.
