Hello my name is.......(Introductions)

There are a lot of clever people out there who understand the ins and outs far better than me.
Personally, I am very focused on literary content.

Do other authors get confused by all the different epublishing shop windows, or is this just something that confuses those of us in Europe and the UK?
I can't buy US Kindle books even though I have a US dollar bank account. I am still struggling with some of these basic international issues.

Vanessa wrote: "Oh, and I forgot to mention that Amazon can't pay money into my US dollar bank account either. They have to post me a cheque! Strange!"
I'll have one of my people look into that for you and see what we can find out. That must be really frustrating.

lol, yes actually I do. I run a web site for self-published authors so I have a network of experts in the industry. I will bring up your question at our next meeting and see if anyone knows anything. Thanks for being impressed. You made my day.

Contact me here on goodreads if you would like me to review your book or do an interview with you on my blog.
I hope you don't class this post as me self promoting myself as I wish to promote you authors (if that makes sense)

Amber_ I am so sorry that happened to you! That is ever writers worst nightmare. I guess now that you are writing it again, it will be like that first time was just a rough draft. Good luck with the publishing process! When you do get to that point we have a lot of helpful articles on our website at: Self-Publishing

I'm glad to meet you too and am excited about this new GR group. I'm active on the social networks, but like Goodreads best! Because we can make friends all over the world based on our common interest in books!
I have self published 6 books, all with Author House.
The four black and white books were ebooks from the beginning, so I was a little p.o.ed that I had to pay extra to get them made ready for the new epub format. And then for some reason they said they couldn't do my first book - so it is available thru Goodreads! But I still need to edit it - you know, learn how to edit an ebook! And I haven't even seen the other 3 and am sure there are editorial corrections to be made. I plan to go to best buy this fall and get reading and editing ebook capability put on my lap top.
So, this is a bit of a long intro but I'm kind of a workaholic. Now there are color ebooks and I really want to rewrite my 2 color horse books into one new color ebook and publish it with someone other than AH!! I also have been paying all along for my websites and I would really like to learn how to edit my own websites. Thank you very much for the opportunity to learn and work with you!

Welcome clair and Jude! I look forward to hearing more of what you guys have to say in the folders on this site. I think you guys both have some good thoughts to share.

That's awful Jude. If your interested at some point, that would be a great topic for our threads. Feel free to start a topic and talk about your experience there so that other people will know what it is like to work with them.

Those all sound like great points. I would just title it "My experience with Author house" That way you could talk about the good as well as the bad.

I'm having quite a lot of fun working out all the logistics to do with self-publishing and am always happy to answer questions, mainly because I'm a big asker of questions so, you know, turn and turn about!
Er... and I talk a lot, which I suppose I should warn you all about ahead of time! :S
