Ginger | 450 comments I used to read Patricia Cornwell faithfully, but I grew tired of her. I'm about 4 or 5 books behind in the Scarpetta series. Kathy Reichs is a new author to me & I have 4 of her books whichc are based on the TV show, "Bones", but haven't read them yet.

Yes Kathy Reichs is wonderful! Be warned..... books are very different. I started reading the books and it took me til season 2 to like the show....

Books are Fab and show is Fab in its own way. In the book she spends half her time traveling between Canada and North Carolina.... I think it's NC. I'm behind in the books and need to get back to them

I have only read one Kay Scarpetta story and that was the first one. I've heard from many other readers that they got bored with the titles too... That has not happened for me with Kathy's books as she really is an expert on the subject and goes into much detail of the forensic science. Kathy really does or did travel between Canada and NC and has been an expert for cases in court.

Ginger | 450 comments I've never watched the show Bones, so I think I'll be okay with the books. I loved Cornwell's books because most, if not all, the places she talks about, I'm familiar with. I remember one in which she was investigating the "rest area" killers & the rest areas she spoke of, I have been to many times when traveling...YIKES!!!!!

Scares the crap out of ya doesn't it???? I have several authors that do that when I read them. I tell everyone about my fear of leaving window shades up when its dark outside because anyone can see in but I can see who is looking in... Hence I close my blinds up tight as it gets dusk.... So I'm reading an Erica Spindler title and there it is in black and white a lady standing in her bathroom with her window up and some creep is in the backyard watching her. OMG!!! I told her that is why you never leave windows open... I think it and she writes about it.... She laughed at me cause she uses her own fears to write her books.
