I have an excellent book about the Spanish Influenza which I have read twice. Wish I could think of the title. It was not really the Spanish influenza at all but came out of Kansas! That flu was caused from crowding people together too much which is always a bad idea. My grandfather was on a ship in the Atlantic when it broke and they had to throw bodies overboard. Anyone who was half way well enough that is. I am fascinated by disease and microbes so I might like this film. All of my relatives lived though it. Not a single one died but my father may have been damaged by it. I wonder if we are like the ones who were immune to Black Plague. Have you seen the PBS show about that? Its incredible. There were some who were totally immune to the plague. Did any of your relatives die of it?
I will do a search in my books so I can put my book up here. You might like it.

I think that some die-hard Twilight saga fans will want to see it. It's ste in the year that Edward died and deals with issues surrounding young men wanting to go off and fight in WW I and it has a strong spanish influenza theme.
The film is based on a stage play by Horton Foote and deals with his family's life before he was born. It focuses on the domestic situations and is a quiet slice of life type of movie. You might have seen horton foote's other play-made-into-a-movie Trip to Bountiful (which in my opinion is better)
This film is NOT everyone's cup of tea but it might give true fans a perspective into "Edward's world" pre-conversion.
