Lady D, have you ever read any of Jennifer Blake's books? My mother loves them. I think she really likes this one, Challenge to Honor
She called them "Romantic Suspense" this one would be more "Historical Romantic Suspense" I think. I'm just currious what "romantic suspsense" means.

I grew up reading Jennifer Blake's books. They are really good. To me, romantic suspense is a story in which there is a strong romance element teamed with a story with lots of danger, thrills, and jeopardy.

Hi Kristin. To start a reading thread for yourself, click on 'new' above the discussion topics list and call it whatever you want. You should be able to add it to this folder using the drop down menu. To add books, click on 'add book/author' above the blank comment box and it will pull up a box where you can type in the name of the book. If you want to add the title. If you want to add an icon, click 'cover.'
I love YA fantasy myself, so no need to blush. I hope that helps.
If you would like me to start you a thread, let me know.

5.The Cry of the Icemark by Stuart Hill 11/2 (although this is YA fantasy, it has a lot of action with very well-written battle scenes). (5 stars. Loved it!)

6.Chasing Darkness by Robert Crais 12/2 (this one is probably more of a mystery, but I'm also counting it as A/A) (4 stars)
2012
7.Sandstorm by James Rollins 1/7 (This was really good!) (4.5 stars)

8.Whiskey Sour by JA Konrath 1/11 (4 stars) More mystery/suspense than anything, but I'm counting it anyway.

Konrath is also a hero to many authors out there. Good guy, great sense of humor.

CS, I did like Jack at lot and I like suspense. I liked it enough to keep going with the series. I can totally see how it wouldn't be for everyone.

It's got enough action to feel comfortable for me to count it on this group. I like books that don't fall into one genre anyway.

9. The Cordovan Vault by J. Monkeys 1/20 (3.5 stars) Has a National Treasure kind of vibe, with some paranormal and secret society stuff thrown in. Pretty good.
10. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card 2/7 (4 stars) Looks at war from the viewpoint of children. Some good action bits as the kids participate in war-games.
11. Element Zero by James Knapp 2/23 (2.5 stars) This book was too dark and dreary for me. Some disturbing elements that ruined the book. It's definitely got a lot of action and an interesting twist on the zombie theme, so I can see why some readers would love it.
12.What Doesn't Kill You by Iris Johansen 3/6 (3 stars) This has action/adventure, and it would have been kick*ss if there wasn't so much talking.
13. The Gray Man by Mark Greaney 4/29 (4 stars) I have found another Kickbutt Artist for my hall of fame!

I don't feel like going back and backtracking, so I'm going to start a new list this year and archive the old one.
