Matt Comito | 23 comments The event as preceded, chronologically speaking, by
The ascent into air, intense delight as if drafting
The world whole a floating fruit bright on the
Bough, the butterfly bouquet beyond the worm and silk
Of leaves and wings and flashing light

The lanes between the lawns lead you on
And each in orderly sequence apart
Meant blocked by meaninglessness, subject
devoid of frame, the event without preamble
The last one on the left, just by the way, mine

Stone by tile steps across a green and plush
Plain, the central tenant stone and singly a grove
Alone, the stalk a solid stem, the trunk
A sortie in the midst of cascade
And courtyard, the willow sprays of
Parachuting spore and spider light flyers
Held together by a thread and breeze
On some lazy sinuous arc descending.
