do u need to read these books in order?

My in-laws gave me a few hardbacks to read of this series out of order. I actually like reading books in order so I don't get lost when another book comes out. So I bought the first one so I can read them in order. So far, I'm glad I did because I think in the next books it would build off this one. I am currently reading "The Kill Artist" the first one in this series. It's pretty good, I'm only 37% through it.

Mickey Hoffman You should probably read them in order. The earlier books I think are better. I didn't like the last two as much. ...more

I think you need to read them in order to understand Gabriel Allon. Also, since the earlier books are better, you will get involved in the series and stick with it longer. If I started with the last book, I would never have read the others.

I did enjoy this book thoroughly and always have been fascinated with the Arab culture and the treatment of their women. The book's story was nicely woven, great spy intrigue and loved the many different locations that the story took place in.
This is a bit of a digression, but the author made a reference to another book that he used for his research and could not put down that book as well. One of the book he had used as one of his references is "In the Land of Invisible Women: A Female Doctor's Journey in the Saudi Kingdom" by Qanta Ahmed. It is just mind boggling, even if you have an already existing understanding of the roles of women and men in Saudi Arabia, this book will give you a greater insight into it and show some of the contradictions of that culture.
But, can't wait to read some other novels by Daniel Silva

Just finished this, my first introduction to Silva. Move over, le Carre ...
