Thanks again Jill for doing this!!! January is great for me because I have the first week off!!!
We could do that or go alphabetically???

I like the idea of doing the books sequentially, or alphabetically. Or even two books that month.

Hope everyone is doing well today!
I am with Nicolle and Jill!!
Hey Nicolle been awhile!!! Hope everything is going good at school!!!!
I am great today Jill!! We found out that our store won a platinum award and we are up for a 10,000 dollar cash prize!!!!
Hope everyone has a good rest of the week...We have our thanksgiving this weekend so again I am going to have a nice relaxing long weekend!!

You must not live in the US where the legal age is 21.

Hey Nicole...sorry I missed your birthday!!!! Hope u had a great day!!! Hope the applications for university got all sorted out!!! Wow 18!!! Wish I could be 18 again!!! Although I don't think that I would do anything differently as it all led me to the wonderful life I have now!!!! Enjoy it Nicolle!!!!
I have a question for you.
Should we try to post discussion questions for the group reads? They wouldn't have to be mandatory. I think some readers like a more structured discussion, and some like to wing it. If we have questions, those who are so inclined could use them to structure their discussion thoughts.

I think that would be a good idea. It would be interesting to see how differently people interpret the books!!!

I like Lady Danielle's idea and I'm currently reading the book for the future questions. I'll announce the winner soon. Have fun!
On The Hobbit thread, some posters are interested in doing a chapter by chapter discussion. I'm not 100% pro that myself, but I think it's cool if some readers do go that way. What do you guys think?

Just a reminder for people to put things in the description at the top of the group page. e.g. ---nominate december read---

I'm not really that organized, to be honest! I don't think I would do chapter by chapter. Maybe in chapter blocks. We'll see.

Hope you're all doing well today!

Hello all!! I didn't forget about you!!! I like the idea of questions but not the chapter discussion as some read faster then others

I am not a moderator, and I'm brand new to this group, but I'll share what the administrator of a different group (Shelfari)does.
The admin does NOT vote UNLESS she has to break a tie.
Since you are rotating the duty of moderator, you would each sit out the vote ONLY for the month you are responsible. And you would vote ONLY if there was a tie and you needed to break it.
Just a suggestion. Feel free to disregard.
That sounds like a good idea Tessa...thank you for the info!!!!

Hey guys...when did you want me to post the poll for the January read???
HOpe everyone is good....I know it's been awhile...
HOpe everyone is good....I know it's been awhile...

I know what you mean, I have been absent ALOT! Too much hard work which I'm doing (HA!).
I'm really dissapointed because for my application to uni my teachers all predicted me B grades (I know this is because last year my grades were a bit naff) but this basically means I won't get into the unis I want to go to as they want AAB and won't even glance at my application because my grades are predicted low.
So...the plan is the apply anyway and when I get refused I will get the grades (hopefully) anyway and somehow on results day persuade someone to let me into their uni!
If that fails I guess I am doomed to a low level uni :S
Chin up Nicolle....Don't stress out too bad about it, I know that's easier said then done, but please try.
I will start the book list next week if I don't forget...I have been finding that time and days and weeks and Months are just flying by and I can't seem to catch up to the time....

Terri-lynn, I started it around the 15th. Wanted to give everyone time to nominate books and vote. I think it's good to announce it a month before, especially if people are using the library!
Hope you are both doing well. And I totally understand the crazy time flying by. My sister recently got engaged, so I'm in Maid of Honor mode, and started a second job! Good thing there are lots of us to help out!:)
When it is your month, start the nomination thread on the 15th. Allow about a week for nominations, then start the poll. Announce the winner by the 1st of the month prior to the read.
For December read
Oct 15 - nomination thread
Oct 23rd (ish) poll
November 1st - Announce read for December
Then, start the group read thread for whichever book is chosen.
If for some reason life gets crazy (not that that EVER happens) and you can't lead your assigned month, let other mods know and we'll help out! If this schedule doesn't work (you already know your assigned month will be crazy) please let us all know and we can change it!
November read - Kwesi
December read - Jill
January read - Teri-lynn
February read - Lady Danielle
March read - Nicolle
We can keep this rotation if it works for everyone. When it's not your month, focus more on the other threads so that everything is covered!
Questions/Comments/Concerns/etc?
Hope everyone has a great day!
