Damein is the name of one of my charries.

OOO I know what you mean! It takes me FOREVER! I like all of those... I think my favorite for the guy is Kaven. I don't know why, but I LOVE that name! If you don't use it, I probably will! haha

And as for the girl... hmmm.... I really like Lera. I just like it. Haha... so yeah! those are my suggestions!

lol yeah I search for meanings (ex. sweet, couragious, loving) or go into like a list of names in one letter that I think would work best for my characters (ex. O, A ,B)

haha me too! but, I've found that one of the best websites is www.weddingvendors.com They have a good collection of names that seem to have accurate meanings in my opinion. And I tend through names according to origin. I mean, if my country is based on Ireland, I look for Irish names. If it's based on Iceland, I look for Icelandic names etc. etc....

big deal. You can have repeat character names. It's just weird when a character has your name, and their nickname is spelled the same way.

I mean, most veronicas go by ronnie, but mine is Roni. and that is how it was spelled in a story somebody was writing.

i don't really like repeating the name of a character that i have in another story, in one of the stories i'm writing.

yeah ... it's too weird. although i did reuse the name Eva. Only the other Eva was in this horrible story i wrote in fifth grade ... so i waited like four years before i used it again. XD haha

Thanks for not using the name Eve cause then everytime I would try and picture your character, I would think of my grandma

for some reason i don't like the name penelope...i don't know why, but to me it sounds ugly. i always think of a pig for some reason, when i hear that name (and no it is NOT because of the movie penelope. i didn't see it)

Haha... I love that name Penelope!! I attach it to my childhood when my sister's friend mom was named Penelope. We called her Penny though. And I loved that movie! How could I not? It has my McAvoy in it!!!

I like Kaven a lot, and I really like Ailia. I struggle with names for two reasons.
1) I like them to sound cool
2) I have trouble with the meaning. For instance, I can't name someone who's supposed to be ugly Ailia, because that means beautiful. You know?

I usually don't go with meanings.
Except in this one story, where I just had to find something that sounded perfect. Thanks to google translator, anybody who can read croation will think of how strange the names are. Mirno means peaceful, Tisina means silence, Golub means dove, Nevolji means distress, and Ocaj means dispair. The last one is a name for a city, and Golub and Nevolji are the two races that are clashing.
