what about pink?

Lost Things was kind of dark and twisted but did a good rehashing of some classic fairy tales. Overall I'd say it's original and captivating. It wasn't really what I was expecting but I did like it am glad I read it.
What about Perfect Chemistry? I had been planning to read it. What didn't you like about it? What did you like?

The plot was great but the writing... Brittany kept on saying how she has to be a different person in front of everyone else and Kept. On. Saying. It. They didn't really show how hard it was... Also, all they ever wanted to do is kiss or in Alex's case have sex with each other. Very disappointing which was surprising because I liked the authors other book Leaving Paradise.
Thanks btw! I'll have to read it. (:

Unfortunately, I've come across several books in the YA genre that seem to have the same problem: they talk and whine and tell us what's happening rather than showing or describing what's going on. And what a waste! Most of the time it just ends up being flowery nonsense, a diatribe that nearly overwhelms the more delicate intellect. The absence of such discourse could cut a book in half and save me, for one, a few exasperated sighs and eye rolls. It really is a shame, because a lot of YA plots are very interesting, but I find the writing of such authors, regardless of genre...lacking. I can only hope they keep attending their creative writing classes and have their editors well kept and on speed dial.
Meanwhile, I think I'll check out Leaving Paradise!
