Does beautiful wording make cutting pretty?

While I loved this book, I still have a small question in the back of my mind; does her eloquent writing make her self mutilation beautiful to the reader? I know she explains her terrible feelings of sadness and isolation but the way she talks about the ribbons of blood makes me yearn to see them for myself, just to see if it's really as lovely as she has made it sound. Am I the only one with this odd thought?

As a cutter and a writer, I'd say that it makes it a powerful temptation. There were times where I'd get so into the book, I'd have to put it down for several days because I was tempted to cut. But in doing so, it made me hungry to finish the book because it was good writing.
