I think that one thing that made me mad about the series was the way Meyer developed Bella. Throughout the whole series it was, "I can't live without Edward" or, "I'll just die without Edward." It's sad because Meyer's kind of trying to say that women can't live or function without a man.

Haha that made me laugh! You know, I really felt bad for Jacob. He spent so much time trying to convince Bella to be with him; he poured his heart out to her. It really made me laugh though when he imprinted on Renesmee and made Bella irate!

I think what Brandon said is very true but I also think for me that the entire story was the downfall. I love a good vampire book, in fact my favorite types of books are vampire books and classics. The problem with Twilight is that it brings almost nothing new to the table. Sure, Meyer threw in the idea of vampires sparkling and not having fangs, but the very core of the story was so familiar. Vampire boy meets girl, they fall in love instantly, trouble arises and boy must save girl. It's the same storyline over and over again. I liked the book, but I didn't love it. I only love those books that redefine an entire genre, and that was not Twilight.
And to supply my opinion, I like Edward better even though he always looks at Bella like a dog looks at a bone. Jacob is just too whiny. Although, Edward was always stuck on the, "I can't change you because I don't want to kill your soul." So I guess you don't win either way.

yes, absolutely. i like poppy z. brites' vampires...even if they are a little racy...ok, a lot racy!
and, edward seemed lovely at first and then he seemed controlling and possessive and jacob was whiny and then got stronger...strangeness...
frankly, i like the look of edward more...i like my men undead and sparkly! :D

I agree. Dracula is my favorite vamp novel of all time followed by Interview with a Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. Why? They were creative and pure genius. I need a new vampire book that has that same spark. I will gladly write it myself because I'm tired of reading the same thing. Team Carlisle all the way! He doesn't get enough appreciation. He has saved so many lives as a doctor, took in 5 vampire children, and bought his wife an island- he even named it after her! What else must he do to get proper appreciation?
