Phillip Goodman a hard sci fi book (i remember it being hard sci-fi) that featured a (possibly) genetically engineered (possibly giant) squid, that was trained to pilot a space craft, there were other squid too, i remember loving and being facinated with it, but cannot remember the title of it, i've been trying to remember for ages, could it just have been a dream? please help...

Phillip Goodman the stephen baxter one sounds familier, not so much the hooded swan, deffinately not the cosmonaut keep, though of course there may be such creatures in all of them.

Paula (paula66) Help please. I live in australia and want to know if any of
Charles Sheffield books are on kindle in some other country I would love to read them on kindle but in aussie land that is a big resounding no. I am dying for a reread but I can't hold books anymore. ~sigh~

Paula (paula66) I am trying to remember a three book series that I can't remember the name or the author.
It is a based on a ruling class who are regarded as "royal". One royal family has 2 sons. The older is healthy and the younger is sickly and ends up working for the underground revolution. He is called the Lamb and teaches acceptance. He is executed for his work and slowly his brother (the Shepard) takes on a role in the underground. I loved these books and would dearly love to find out what they are called. I think the capital city was in Australia.
if you can help that would be great.
I luck here a bit and get some good recs from you all thanks.

I am not sure, but if others are like me here they get notifications on group postings. So many here have probably read your postings and just do not know the answer to your questions.

Also you should read more science fiction and less horror. I think you might be reading too much horror... Might be reading Waaaay too much horror :)
Or the power just went out to your Internet connection? No Noooo :)

Paula (paula66) hehehe, actually I don't read any horror books. It was just so quite here. ;)

Paula (paula66) I figured out what book and series I was looking for.
Sword of the Lamb Sword of the Lamb (The Phoenix Legacy, #1) by M.K. Wren and its sister books in the series. A excellent read or reread in my case if anyone wants to check it out.

John (johnlanser) | 1 comments The Phoenix Legacy a good series.
I am just watching Under the Dome and it reminds me of a book I read years ago, same premise small English town trapped under a force field outstanding thing I remember is that they used a Morris dancing troupe as a police force. Does anyone remember it?

message 17: by Paula (new)

Paula (paula66) lol, your kidding. A dance troupe??

message 18: by Adrian (new)

Adrian | 53 comments Haven't started watching Under the Dome yet as haven't had time, so will see if any Morris dancing troop springs to mind when I do catch up. Must admit doesn't ring a bell and I always try and catch sci fi on TV and have done since Quatermass.
