Jason | 36 comments About 50 pages in, and I think what I have discovered between this book and Magic Bites that has made me not a fan so far is the PoV utilized. I don't think I like the first person perspective as much as I do variations of the third person.

Overall, my crankiness about PoV aside, I am finding the author to be enjoyable and engageable. The story telling is plot driven which is positive and negative at the same time. On the positive side it is moving the story along, and you feel like you get from point A to B to C without alot of doddling. On the negative side though the lack of dialogue, and exploring of the charachter seems to leave something hanging . . . maybe I mean undefined.

The story though is interesting and enjoyable. Will post more as I progress through the book.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) hmm i've been putting this book off for sometime now. I'll be reading it this week once I finish my bf books

Kami (aidansmama) | 22 comments I am on page 171 and really like it. She does a lot with descriptive exposition, but there is still a lot of plot driven excitement. You do get locked in by the first person, since you only know as much as what Mac knows and feels. Sometimes I get very frustrated with her personality type. But the story is very compelling.

Melissa I know what you mean Kami, but then I remember that she's only 22 and has lived a pretty sheltered life up until the beginning of the book. Then I realize that it fits.

Jason | 36 comments Overall, I am not a fan of first person. But I think Karen Moning did an excellent job with it. If it would have been third person then we would know Jericho or Fiona better. I am not sure that is what the author wanted, nor would it have helped the story. Part of the hook for the next books is finding out more about Jericho.

At first, I didn't think I was going to like this book, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. I may read the next in the series, but it is not a top priority for me right now.

Jessica | 169 comments So far I'm enjoying this one. I'm mildly annoyed with Mac's level of denial of what's in front of her face. She can so frimly believe drugs weren't involved, but can't seem to accept what IS happening. I'm sure she'll get over it in the next few chapters, but right now I just want to slap her- haha.

Jessica | 169 comments Finished tonight. Will probably read the next one, once my list of books gets shorter. Was annoyed with the abruptness of the ending. Gave it a 3.

new_user LOL, there was no ending.

Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Don't you just hate when you read a book with no ending especially when it's promising. Now you feel all obligated to go get the next. I have bloodfever but haven't started it because I'm affraid this too will have no ending.LOL

Jessica | 169 comments Well, when she finishes the final book, someone want to let me know. no way I could handle that kind of ending in every book of a 5 book series without having them all on hand.

message 12: by Anneliese (new)

Anneliese | 6 comments She's three books into the series and though I can't remember how Dark Fever ended at this moment, I can tell you that Fae Fever definitely gives you the feel that the book is done while at the same time setting you up for the next book in the series. But ... I think that one also has to be my least favorite in the series too.
