Oly Reads discussion

I just joined this group but am not sure what books you are reading. Are you discussing any? Would love to participate fully, so maybe someone of you all could let me know how it works. I look forward to getting to know many of you and share our love of reading. Thanks!

Well, this makes me feel better that I'm not alone in being unsure as to how this group works. And if it's mainly in-person type meetings, that's cool, too. Just want to know how to interact with everyone. Thanks for your reply, Lavada!

Also lurking in Oly. Curious to see what everyone is up to before hopping into the fray. :)

The core of this group is a meeting we have once every month or two. We usually have it at a restaurant in downtown Oly, though we've been known to meet at homes or parks as well. We don't all read the same book - we go around the table and give little "booktalks" or speeches discussing or previewing our books. There are a few online discussions, but not usually of specific books, though I've seen small groups pop up to read a specific book occasionally.

This group started as a regular old Goodreads group of primarily people living in Olympia, but there was interest in meeting in person so that started happening and the group morphed into what Raina has described. Please feel free to talk in the forums about whatever strikes your fancy, as well! And welcome to you all.
