You'll love this one...!! A book club & more discussion

I know this is a bit early, but it's going to take a little preparation time.

Do you ever look at your ever growing TBR pile and wonder which book you should read next? Do you wish that someone else would simply say, "Here! Read this one?"

November's challenge is going to do just that!

I need to know who is going to participate. You have until Oct 27th to indicate whether or not you will participate. I will then put all the names into a hat and draw partners for everyone. Your partner will go to your TBR list on Goodreads and select one book from your list and that will be your November read.

Im in - just catching up on goodreads as I've been in Venice with my husband and without my children. Still got some reading done though!

My sister was in Venice about a week ago. Did you see her? LOL! Just kidding. She returned home yesterday.

One can always use a secret sister. :) That would almost be like having an imaginary sister - one who agrees with everything I say and brings me wine from Italy.

OK, I'm in - I've got far too many books on my TBR, I can't make a decision on my own!

I'm interested in this, but get most of my books from the library. Not all of the books on my TBR are available there, so if a book not at the library was chosen, could we ask for a new selection? I could also go through and tag which books are at the library too...

Tagging the books that are available at the library would be a workable solution.

When do we get our 'partner'? Excited like a kid waiting for Father Christmas. Or impatient.

I feel the same way Susan! But since there's another whole day for entries, I'm guessing we'll have to wait at least one day... ;)

I hate those programs on tv where they build the suspense before they announce the winner. I always think, "Out with it!" We do have one more day for signups, so it will be Friday when I draw names.

I'm going to be offline until Tuesday, so don't think I've backed out :)

If you have your profile set on private, you might want to add your partner as a friend so she can see your books.

If you have special considerations - like Kat is going to be away for a few days, and Emma has a TBR Library shelf she wants you to pick from - let your partner know.

Please tell your partner in this thread which book from her TBR shelf you want her to read by November 1st.

There will be no points awarded for this challenge, unless there's a huge demand for it. If so, point qualifiers will be announced once everyone has their selection.

@ Susan - Please pick from my To-Read shelf. Please don't pick any of the books that are also on my "World Tour Challenge". I've ear marked those for a challenge that doesn't start until January 2012.

I have picked 'Only Time Will Tell' by Jeffrey Archer. It jumped out at me as soon as i looked at your list; I haven't read one of his books for eons, and as far as i can remember i used to demolish them in days! I hope you enjoy it.

Kimberly: Please give me till end of day 10/29 to update my TBR list. I mainly use library books but have a few stacks of books at home that I would love to at least get through a couple of them. With that said, I would be open to a book that you loved that I haven't read yet. Thanks, Heather

Karen, my pick for you is Faithful Place by Tana French. I really enjoyed this book and plan on reading more of the Dublin Murder Squad. I hope you like it as much as I did. :)
