can we really know time? please share your opinions...

Accurately, no. Instinctively, yes. Earth's rotation, aging, erosion, rust, things like this give us a sense of changing time, but we fail when we try to put numbers to it, measure it, and be 100% accurate.

I felt this book was a very clever way of expressing Einstein's theory for the non physics majors out there. I really liked the device used to illustrate various stages of possible time passages. This was pretty well written for a scientist!

I once had an odd dream, falling down the time tunnel of my own life. That was the closest I've come to 'understanding' time. Probably not very close, huh?

Time is something for us to use so we can be productive. The guilt with time is our inability to control and be as productive as we feel we should be. Or we fear that we might lose time, as time runs out. One professor once said to a class in college, "The wristwatch was the key weapon in the decimation of the Native American." Paraphrased after 20 years time so take it as a memory and not the absolute truth. Thanks Gregory

Gregory Rothbard Or our fear that we are losing time. This book is one I wish I would have kept.

Actually, one of the most interesting parts to this book is that one of the variations is, in fact, partly true. We now know that time flows differently at different altitudes. It's an infinitessimally small difference, but a measurable one.

Time is a barrier, or in a sense, the protector that enveloping this universe.
We get through, we are in another realm--where all these physics or time itself would make much point no more.
