Fun Fact: according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_Her...The title was inspired by a line from Rudyard Kipling's poem "Gentleman Rankers"
Gentlemen-rankers out on a spree,
Damned from here to Eternity,
God ha' mercy on such as we,
Baa! Yah! Bah!
Just finished "From Here to Eternity"; nothing like I remember the movie being like. The book had a large section dedicated to homosexuality surrounding Army bases. I can see how this book would have caused a stir when it was published.
