I'm confused - I think the question referred to whether we should cross off books in #10 for any shelves we hit in #9 that were new in #9.

Oh, oops. Let me clarify. This round started for books you finished on or after Nov. 1. Any books finished before that you can claim on Shelf a thon 9. Clear as mud? Awesome.

If you read those books, what you do is go to 'see more shelves' on the right of the book's page and look at the first 100 shelves. You can cross off all shelves that appear in this top 100. A very lovely soul has made a spreadsheet you can use to cross them all off and track your progress, it's in message number six here:

As an example, I read Tomorrow, When the War Began, which had 73 of the challenge shelves in its top 100, so therefore I was able to eliminate 73 shelves to start with.
Think I figured this out. 2 books, took me to a 50 :)
