Book2Movie - Challenge 2012

* Vampires diary (category 2)
* The Mortal Instruments #1 (I guess it will be out 2012, so category 6)
* The Fellowship of the ring LOTR #1 (cat. 4)
* The chronicels of Narnia (we'll find a category for it *lol*)
* Fahrenheit 451 (cat. 8)
* Hunger Games #1 (coming to cinema 2012, would fit category 7 and it's no problem if you've already read a book or watched the movie before the challenge)
you see - no problem there! :)

here are some new ideas for the challenge.
Read a book...
10: ... where you've already seen the movie but haven't read the book yet
11: ... where your favorite actor/ actress plays in it
12: ... which is playing at least 100 years in the past
13: ... from a german german-speaking author
14: ... where the story is about love and will make you cry
15: ... which is full of blood, death and homicide (Thriller, Horror,...)
16: ... ... Which a cartoon has been based off of. (ex. Peter Pan, Quest For Camelot, Hunchback of Notre Dame, etc.)
17: ... Whose author was born & raised in your home country.
18: ... Which uses animals as the main character(s).
19: ... Which would be considered a book/movie for the opposite sex.
So - and in the end we've to find the most interesting 12 catergories for the challenge and in december everyone can search the perfect for for each cat. :)

Can it be about some books I've already read??? And is it going to be one book/category per month?

alright, that's awesome! I'm already thinking about a nice button to fit the challenge (you know - it has to look nice *lol*)
Yeah, you can have watched the movie already or have read the book already-or you can also have already written the review for the book. But when you review the movie you've to make a little comparison to the book as well. Got the idea?

There can be a main post in each ones blog with links to each of the book-vs-movie posts and we can have the links to everyones blogs so that more people can see them!!! (I got really excited as you can tell...)

I'll post an announcement on the beginning of december and then everyone who wants to join can participate.
And then on the end of december I'll post which books I've chosen to read for the challenge and then I'll just make an update every month - or so I've thougt.
What do you think - is this too much?
mh.. about your idea to blog and link and post and link back - crap, I just got confused?! :D
how do you mean it excactly?

Let's just say that there are 3 persons doing this challenge, ok?
They all post like you said the books that they decide to have on the challenge. Let's call these posts A Posts! Everyone puts links to the other 2 A Posts too. So there is one A Post on each participants blog with links to the other two A Posts.
Then when any of them reads a book and watches the movie too and makes a new post(VS Post) they can put the link to their A Post too and a link to the A Post in their VS Post. So the two post link to each other.
But since the other 2 participants have links to his/her A Post they can also see the new VS Post. So everyone can see everyones new posts!
I hope I explained it well. I have it like an image in my head... :P

but isn't that very complicated and involvend to link every post to every other post of the other participants?
And I even don't know really who will join the challenge if they don't tell me or if they don't want to be linked.
My suggestion is....

Then we put the book2movie Challenge button on the sidebar of the blog which will link to the main post (from the beginning).
So - always when a reader click on the button he will go to the main post and can clikc on the links to the other joiners of the challenge. Know what I mean?

we could post it like this in the main post:
Cat. 1:
*My book - I'm number four
* Veronica's Book - .... (+ the link to your post of the book)
* Naty's Book - ....
* ....
Cat. 2:
* My book - .....
* Veronica's Book - .... (+ link)

we could post it like this in the main post:
Cat. 1:
*My book - I'm number four
* Veronica's Book - .... (+ the link to your post of the book)
* ..."
Yeap! Like this idea two!!! :)

But how do we do that - should I write a list down and have everyone to say yes to the challenge in november for 100%?
And how do whe make this main post, when the people read every month a book - then we have to update the main post every month?
Or should we make a decription post on the beginning of december where everyone who wants to join has to write me an e-mail and the blog adresse and then afterwards everyone has to send me the books the plan to read in which category.
THen on the 25 of december (for example) everyone post a main post on which everyone can see who read which book in which category with name and link.
And then: every month we post a monthly challenge update on which we post a link to our review of the book+ movie and then the link to the other blogger reviews.
Understandable??

well, I was thinking that you can collect the names of the ones that want to participate until the beggining of December adn then on Dec.25 or later, but before next year, you can post the main post with the categories and the button and the participating blogs.
We can do one category per month and whenever someone makes a post they can add the button to the main post and send you a mail with their post link so you can add it to the main post.
Does that sounds good? I hope I was clear enough... :)

So - I'M the only one who makes the MAIN POST on the 25th of december? Right?
And then every month when a category is ready everyone write me the link to the review of the book - correct?
Or do the other joiners of the challenge also post a MAIN POST on their blog on the 25th of dec.?
And if not - and I'm the only MAIN POST poster *lol*
than how can the other blog readers follow the challenge -update?
And what is with the 'book2move' button - where should this link to?

So, I was thinking that everyone can make a post to let people know about the challenge if they want to, but you will be the only one with the main post.
The button will link to the MAIN POST and everytime someone makes a post for a book+movie they have to put it somewhere in the post saying: if you want to read more books vs movies reviews click the button... or something like that.
I think that's enough.

Okay, then I'll make one post at the beginning of december to get more joiners and then on the 25 of december I post the MAIN POST with everys book choice. And then I'll update this MAIN POST every month when everyone is writing me the link.
BUT for the participatians I wouldn't post the challenge button to the review of the book+movie, but on the sidebar of the blog?! don't?
what do you think is bette?
Any idea for the button by the way? :p

I'll think about it and maybe I've time in november to make a nice button. Maybe somehting with a mix of movieposters where everyone knows they were made of books.
good night then, bye

Go here now for the exact informations! :)
thanks

So please, feel free to write me one :)
I've put my list further up - you can look at it.
Or I've found a list here:
http://themovieblog.com/2008/11/the-m...
or here:

@Kimmy I think we are picking our own...I am now fully going by the suggestions on this page since I can't think for myself lol!

Red Riding Hood and I am number four.
And what about The Help? or does it not count because the movie is about how the book was inspired. lol
I think The Help is a great idea! It's been on my TBR forever. It would do me well to finally read it. Maybe then I'll understand the movie!

and you could go into younger kids movies like
The lightening theif. that movie was good.
and also, How to Train your Dragon. That was the best movie ever!!! toothless is so cool. lol.

@veronica: If you've your list with the books ready, then please MAIL me the list to martina.bookaholic@gmx.net
Because I want an e-mail from evey participant so it ist easier for my organisation :)
Could you please edit your event-info, so that everyone knows that they have to write me an e-mail if they want to join. Otherwise it gets too confusing.
And I also need your blogadress and the name you want to use in the post. Do you want to be called Veronica or MOstlyreviews?

no, everyone can/ has to pick the books by yourself. My list I wrote is just an idea. But you can choose other books, which you like. They should just choosen to fit the categories (The first post on top of this thread)

you don't have to use my suggestions. They are just books which I'm thinking about reading. But everyone has another taste and maybe you'll find books which YOU like more.
Click at his site - there are many books for inspiration :)

I guess I'll choose Red Riding Hood, because the film wasn't soo bad and the boys look okay. :)
I don't know 'the help' so I can't say anything about it.

Book2Movie Challenge - 2012
I’ve already often thought about it to read also older books, which were already made into movies and then to write a review about the book, and also about the movie with a little comparision between the book and the movie. But till now I haven’t got the time or the will to do so and therefore I’ve thought this would be a great idea for a challenge!
The goal for this challenge is to read a book/ watch a movie in each of the 12 categories, which are further down, during the year of 2012 (01.01.2012 – 31.12.2012) + 1 bonus category, if someone can’t find a book in on of the 12 categories.
Which means:
12 books + movie in 12 months, therefore 1 book/ 1 movie per month.
(Book can be read/ movie can already been watched – but just one of each)
I think this isn’t too hard and we’ll be able to accomplish this challenge, even though we have to write 2 reviews a month (one for the book and one for the movie). I really hope that I’ll make it and that many many other book/move lovers will join me in this challenge. :)
Blog Bonus:
For all bloggers who wants to join, read this info: On the 25th of december I’ll post, before the challenge will begin, the MAIN POST in which everything will be decripte again with all categories and infos and there I’ll also be a list of everyone who is participating and I’ll also write the books which each of them will read in which categorie + the link to their blog (later it will link directly to the review)
Furthermore every participator has to post, on every review which is made for this challenge or on the sidebar of the blog, the ‘Book 2 Movie’ Button which should be linked back to the MAIN POST on my blog (which I mentioned will be posted on 25th of december). So everyone link to me and then everyone can go from there to all the reviews of all participators.
Therefore it is very important that every one of you who wants to join, write an e-mail to me in which you will tell me which book you want to read in which category and also you blog adress to: My E-MAIL ADRESSE IS:
martina.bookaholic@gmx.net
Here are the categories for the challenge:

4. … in which you favorit actor/ actress is playing in the movie.

Enjoy yourself while choosing your books and then please write me an e-mail with the category nummer and your book. Also for those who have not a Blog. (For all who have a blog, please also tell me your blog adresse and how you liked to be called in the list.) Thanks
I’m happy and I’m really looking forward to this challenge and I’m also excitid and soo curious which books will be read in which category and how many of you will join the challenge and if we are able to make a little ‘over the globe’ challenge out of it! So please, join and send me your details and tell all of your friends. That would be fabolous!! Thanks
